My half assed attempt at counting shows:

9 for Free Play (including myself)
6 for resort credit (I changed that from just "food")
2 for tickets to an event

Looks like free play wins in this 100% Ironclad Scientific Poll.

The rooms is always tops for me, and it seems for most people that posted. I will give up more free play at one place for a much better room elsewhere. But there is limits to that.

I like the rooms at Delano, I can get a bitching suite, but my offers there are $75 in Free Play and $100 in food. My Petite Suite at Treasure Island comes with $600 in Free Play. ti wins!

I value Free Play higher, since it pads my bankroll. I never eat fancy, and I earn enough points on my players club cards to pay for my own food with their money.

I am, of course with you on TI. No one seems to come close of free play, and they’ve recently stepped up their culinary game. If you play at a level that gets you a couple steps up to the suites, they are not bad

Seems like Free Play is the most popular choice. I am surprised more people aren't enticed by the Tourney events.

How many people book a CET room just for the millionaire maker, or other properties for the big BJ or Baccarat tournies? I would rather have a weekend with one of these tournaments than lets say $350 in free play.

I’ve participated in a handful of tournaments and that just doesn’t move the needle for me. I booked at Bally’s for Millionaire Maker and after the fist 3-minute session, it was over. Luckily, I double booked at TI and got $500 in FP.

I'd guess this depends on each individual's past luck in tournaments. If you've won one, you probably love them. If you haven't, they just seem (to me) like a big waste of time and pointless stress on your wrists. The EV of a tournament would probably have to be 3-4x the amount of free play I could get as an alternative before I'd choose the tournament.

    1) Free Room
    2) Resort credit for F&B
    3) Every/Anything else except...
    99) Freeplay. I'm a tables-only player though. I totally understand why slot/VP players value this.

Give up $350 in free play for a tournament I hope to win $350 in free play at LOL.

Its like when Peter Griffin was given the choice between a new boat or a mystery box. "A boat's a boat, but the Mystery Box could be anything! It could even be a boat!"

I always take the cash in hand (Free Play) and by their very nature, I am not a fan of slot tourney's. Usually they involve being tied to a property, and I go to Vegas to get out and explore.

Friday, sign up by 5PM and go the the VIP lounge at 7PM for drinks and to register for the raffle. Saturday, round one is at 10AM and round 2 is at 2PM. Bonus round at 3PM to throw out your lowest score from one or 2. Sunday, more of the same plus the results.

Casino know they got you in house with these things. That is why they push so many of them out each year.

I'd take the free play too, but this isn't really a fair comparison... the mystery box could have a 300 foot yacht inside it (but probably has nothing and, as you mentioned, will take the whole weekend to unwrap).

Even if the free play is use until you lose? I'm curious why... if you're a blackjack player, it's essentially as good as cash.

I do the $500 buy in Slot Tournaments. I enjoy them. When you see the little Asian girl dance and twirl around the dance floor when she's just won $100,000 CASH,,(apparently she's won it twice someone said)...I think the last tourney I was in (last weekend?) it was only $50,000 for the winner? They are doing the same as last year. Buy in for $500 for 3 slot tournaments, and the 4th finale is free. And it's cash, not fp. I'm booked for the April 4th at B.

We stay exclusively at Wynn Tower Suites. Room is comped plus free play and F&B, as well as access to the VIP lounge. Free play fluctuates between $400 and $850., plus they send a car for us. I think I would be devastated without all of it, but if forced to prioritize, I could do without the Limo and free play. I wouldn't want to give up the Tower Suites and VIP lounge. Also, we never stop to eat, so F&B could also go.

A couple years ago, Bellagio asked what format we would like and we answered. Yah it was a pain having a 10am and a 2pm. Now our two 10 minute sessions are almost back to back, so you are basically done within the hour. Repeat the next day. And if you know you are not in the running, you don't HAVE to attend the awards. Your fp just gets added.

Sadly, that is anything but the norm. Some of the pay to play ones do work the way you described, but the comped ones usually works exactly the way I outlined it. And for good reason, they want a captive audience in house as long as they can keep you.

If they all worked like your, and there was no split rounds hours apart, no need to show up for a raffle later or gamble more to throw out a low score, in order to increase your odds at winning, more people would be all over these. But it is what it is. A clever marketing game to keep you on property.

That and there is a time factor. Say the slot tourney has a few rounds, and food etc.. It adds to my enjoyment also saves me some money cause that is time I am away from the floor.

Oh I get you. I understand. I've been doing comped slotty's at my home base MB since 2003. And yah I'd play at lets say 10 and 2. I'd go to the beach to frolic for a couple hours and would always come back at 1:30 with a towel to put on my chair as my bathing suit MIGHT still be damp. And somehow managed to SAVE my chair at the beach although it was usually a request to my neighbour beach lounger "Hey,,,I have to go to a slot tournament play, but should be back in about 40 minutes. Would you mind holding my chair?) And no,,,,it was tough to do anything else off property in between times. I haven't done a comped one in a couple years(although I'm invited, I just don't) I used to do all the comped M Millions but too many people invited and too little pay. However, I gathered so many gambling friends over the years doing them, and for that I'm thankful. I've been to 50th wedding anniversary's, baby showers etc. Now,,as I'm trying to LIMIT my trips,,I'm just doing the buy ins.
