Hey all! So I know the drill on MyVegas Comps....3 every 30 days for every comp sponsored by MGM. This is what I'm wondering....

For one of my comps, I chose the 2 night stay in Mirage. In order to secure my room, I had to "redeem" the reward in order to book the room for this November. Since I'm not planning on staying in Vegas until then, does the redemption count towards my stay in November or since I redeemed this reward back in September, will I still have up to 3 comps to spend from MyVegas (sponsored by MGM) when I'm there in November or just 2?

I guess we'll let you join...
For limits, the room night counts on the night you'll stay. So you will have 2 mgm awards remaining for your November trip.

There is another loophole if you have points to burn. You can buy 3 rewards in 30 days, but most of them need to be used within 90 days. So you can stockpile rewards for different things not connected.

What I mean is, you can use 3 for Mlife properties + 3 for the monorail + 3 for a helicopter tour (or whatever). Only linked accounts can see what you physically redeemed. So Mlife can see you took 2 buffets at Mirage and a BOGO Shark Reef, but they have no clue you took 3 BOGO monorail passes ( or whatever)

MyVegas will give you a warning about the 3 in 30 rule. But they will let you purchase your reward if you "purchase" 3 one month and 3 the next.

I just did the above a few weeks ago, no issues.

This is not a loophole. Each partner (MLife, Monorail, Wolfgang Puck, etc.) has different redemption rules, so you could use way more than 3 rewards on a single trip if you read up on your limits.

As for the warning, you can purchase as many MyVegas rewards as you have points. If you have an upcoming trip, you could purchase 10 rewards (we'll stick with Mlife for this example), select the 3 (or more if you've purchased chips) you want to use, and return the rest when you get back. The caveat is that you're only allowed to return 5 rewards in 30 days. Keep that in mind so you don't purchase excess rewards and can't return them to get your LP back.

It is a loop hole when people online commonly stick to the "3 in 30" rule for redemptions. I just wanted to point out that you can in fact, spend more than 3 in 30 when you do so with different partners.

As for the redeeming, most people can only redeem 3 rewards within Mlife (that was your example) unless they purchase enough chips to increase that. I'm staring at several Mlife rewards right now, all of the say "Usage limited to any 3 Rewards from MGM Resorts International, regardless of type, within a rolling 30 day period"

I'm simply pointing out that you can do exactly what I said. Redeem 3 for Mlife + 3 for the monorail ETC. A lot of people assume the "rule" is for rewards. But like you and I pointed out, it is only limited to each company. You can get/spend many more than 3 rewards in 30 days. you just need to do so with different partners.

A loophole usually implies taking advantage of in some sort of malicious manner. People just aren't aware of the rewards limits which is partly due to MyVegas not making it too clear.

Yes, that's because you haven't purchased enough chips to redeem more. Otherwise it will say "Usage limited to any 4 (or 5 or 6) Rewards from MGM Resorts International, regardless of type, within a rolling 30 day period."

We are both saying the same thing. The only issue you have with my post was me using the word loophole. I don't agree with your definition of a loophole having anything to do with malice. A Loophole is finding a fault in a set of rules and using it to your advantage. Again, most people adhere to the "3 in 30" rule. I was pointing out the "loophole" in that thought. Which is that 3 in 30 only applied to each partner, not the collective sum of all rewards you could redeem.

I'm sorry that was lost on you.

As for your second post, I'm obviously aware that purchasing more chips means you can redeem more within a partner group. You actually quoted me saying "most people can only redeem 3 rewards within Mlife (that was your example) unless they purchase enough chips to increase that." So that comment was redundant.

Seems like you just want to talk in circles, so I'll bow out now. Have a nice weekend JoJo
