I stayed there many times. My favorite casino, by far the pool area is the best in Vegas. The sports book is a good size, and well run, great mix of slots and table games, It has a very laid back atmosphere Great place to unwind.

show Michael Jackson show there decent cirque show

The thing I like the most has to be the wave pool it just so relaxing. Also, the overall vibe of the place.

Delano used to be our home resort, that was several years ago. There many factors that changed our opinion. More power to folks who have stayed the course.

This was exactly me. We loved, loved stay at Mandalay Bay. And back then, THEhotel (before it became Delano). I would have listed my favorite things as:

    1) It just feels classy and someplace special!

    2) I like being away from the crowds and noise of the Strip. But still want easy access to the crowds and noise of the Strip. And the free trams here do exactly that. PLUS, the free shuttle that will take you to center Strip, ala Fashion Show Mall.

    3) The slot selection! Mandalay Bay casino is HUGE! Not only do they have all of the newest games, but a ton of older games you just cant find anywhere else these days!

Just look at all the games as soon as you walk in!

But, this is what the above looks like today.

    1) It just feels like someplace that USED to be special. A bit worn, some dead plants and chipped paint. You can see where the old public phones used to be, as they didnt bother to hide anything when they pulled those out. The bones are fancy, but its like a mansion in a neighborhood that fell on hard times. What I mean is, you have some nice features to the space. But its now surrounded by some decay and cheap tattoo shops (literally).

    2) You certainly are away from the crowds, as the casino itself is nearly empty. Seems like no one plays here, and for good reason. But overall, you are just on an island. No more shuttles to center Strip. Those monorails? They only run one of them these days, and even that is spotty at best. Last time we stayed there, they only ran on the weekend. And even than, it was only for 6 hours or so midday.

    3) The sot selection! Is shit! They took out almost ALL of the older games. And all they really have now, are the same cookie cutter games you can find everywhere else in the US. A bunch of Buffalo slots, Lightening Link ETC. Zero need to go out of your way to get to their casino, when you can play the same games every place else. Plus, they had to have removed half of their slots. Just wide open spaces, which make the casino feel sad and unexciting. All the slots along the side by the cage and sports book? Gone. All the slots that greet you at entry? Gone. Its not like they use that space for something new. Its just empty space now.

The same view above, today. No slots at all, no fancy coffee house (Now a cheap mall FroYo place)

I was at Mandalay last weekend. The slot selection is much improved. They had all the newest games and some of the old old games like original Cleo II. The casino was quiet as usual. I can’t believe I going to say this…. The slot selection was better than what Cosmo currently has.

Yeah the location is definitely rough. It's fine if you love the property and don't feel like moving. We just aren't those kind of people though. The only MGM casino we failed to visit last trip was Excalibur.
