So I got back a month ago, but things have been crazy so I finally have time to sit down and chronicle my New Years Eve trip. I am heading back to Vegas in 2 weeks and I think I just got excited enough to want to relive the adventure.
    Day 1 - Saturday Dec 30
Flew in on SWA into Vegas with my friend KM. I had split my stay into 2 hotels, which I never do for 4 nights only, but I apparently was too new, or too low roller, to score a NYE party invite at Cosmo. So off to Venetian to take advantage of my offer. IMG_4400.JPG KM is excited to get to Venetian.

I was originally booked at Palazzo but due to hearing so much about the construction here on the board, but had my host move us over to Venetian just to hedge my bets.

After checking in, we hoofed it down to the casino to play a little bit, but soon that hungry feeling began to take hold. I had wanted to show my friend the amazing diner experience that is Peppermill. So, around 5:30 (to be fair it was 8:30 EST time so way past my dinner time normally) we headed out to walk to the Peppermill. The walk was awesome. Amazing cool weather, not dark enough for it to be a scary walk...
if you have never been to Peppermill, do yourself the favor. It is such an amazing place to experience and it is right on the strip, albeit between Wynn and what was once the Riv.
Plus how can you say no to a premium view of Circus Circus? ;-)
After dinner, back to the Venetian where I slotted around a little bit. Really could not get too much going except this hit on Wonka.
After a few hours more we headed to bed. The next day was a BIG day as we had reservations to watch the Jaguars-Titans game then later the NYE party at Venetian. Yay

    Sunday Dec 31:
Up and at em early! Still on east coast time, so we were raring to go. Grabbed a coffee from the coffee shop on the Grand Canal level. It was actually kinda special to me as this is what they put on my lid. I knew it was going to be a good day...

I was in Vegas on October 1, so I am prone to get a little emotional about all this stuff. On the one hand I understand it has been kind of appropriated for marketing purposes, but to me, it still means something special. Annnnyhow... on to the fun stuff..
We headed over to Wynn after a couple of hours of donating to Sheldon's retirement fund. I actuall had quite decent luck at the Wynn. Some good hits on Cleo (no photos though) and some decent Buffalo hits..

20 minutes prior to kickoff, we headed to Lagasse Stadium, where I had made a reservation (agreeing to spend $125 per person for a table...) It was a cool atmosphere, but I saw other people walking in, who clearly were able to get a table without a reservation and with a lower table minimum. Ugh! Gonna charge it to the room and see what the comp fairy might bring me..
Yes they have TVs in the bathroom so you don't miss a beat, except they were all playing the Oakland/LA game.... blech... jk

After maaaaannnnnny beers (we had to spend $250...so what can you do?) we headed back to the room for a nap to recharge before the NYE party.
The party was amazing. The food was gorgeous, the entertainment was great. I think I will just leave it up to the pictures to describe....

This is the look that says I had enough Champagne...lol
We gorged ourselves until about 11pm. Headed back to the room, changed into jeans and sweaters (I'm a simple person who cannot wait to shed off dress clothes...lol) then headed outside to catch the fireworks.

After the fireworks ended we followed the crush of people back into the casino, and played for another couple of hours. By 2am, my east coast ass was ready for bed. I headed up completely exhausted.

    Monday Jan 1:
Moving day.... I really did not feel like leaving Sheldon any more of my hard earned cash this trip, so off to to Cosmo! A beautiful fountain view room again. Getting so spoiled.
After showing KM all the cool room features and the balcony where I like to go nurse my hurt feelings when the slots beat me up and take my milk money, we ventured down to check out the skating rink. I don't skate (I'm from Florida...lol) but it looked like they were having a great time on that little patch.
Lots of kids and parents. I guess one of the few wholesome things to do in this city. ;-)
I must have not won anything of note on Monday since I have no slot photos. We ended up eating pizza in the room and watching Netflix on Monday night (do I know how to party or what?)

    Goodnight Vegas......

    Tuesday Jan 2:
Final full day in Vegas! Had lost of plans. This was the day we were going to Casa de Shenandoah and later to the Neon Museum. Woke up early (see prior night note about binging on Secret Pizza in the room) and headed to Va Bene to get a morning cup of Joe. Decided we would walk down to Treasure Island for our 12:15 pickup to head to Wayne Newton's Casa de Shenandoah. On the way, we stopped and played a couple of hours at the Mirage. I was on fire on Tuesday! It felt like every machine was giving up her secrets. Buffalo bent to my will to the tune of several hundred, and other machines realized I was tired of getting beat up and gave up the dough.
Played a little Sharknado... I have never seen any of the movies, but it was mildly entertaining just from the sound effects...
By 11:30 I knew it was time to head out with my loot. We caught the tram to TI, where it dawned on me we had not eaten. We found a little pizza shop right past the escalator and split a giant greasy cheese pretzel. Satiated, we headed outside to meet the shuttle driver. I was ready to get my Wayniac on! (side note: not actually a huge WN fan really but this seemed like such a fun experience, I mean the guy who almost stole Ellen Griswold from Clark. How could you not want to see where he lived? haha)
    Here are some photos:

High marks for the entire experience. I am not a huge WN fan but what an amazing life this guy has led. The museum, the plane, the horses, the house, it was all top notch and totally worth a couple of hours away from the slots and tables if you are so inclined.

We headed back to the Cosmo as we had a couple of hours to kill before we needed to get to our 6pm reservation at the Neon Museum.
I hit up the slots. Goonies was good to me to the tune of $480. So much fun. Lots of random little bonuses and stuff.
After dinner at China Poblano (so yummy) we Ubered to the Neon Museum. Another amazing adventure. So cool to see these signs and so much Vegas history.
Side note: on our way in, there was what looked like a very small bridal party who apparently was in the midst of getting kicked out of the museum (for what I don't know) but one guy was cursing at one of the employees and was having to be escorted outside. Fun times....lol

After the tour, we decided to Uber to PH. We were looking for some knick knacks to bring home to friends and Miracle Mile seemed a good place to start. Plus it was right across the street from Cosmo which appealed to the lazy part of me.

After walking through the shops, we headed into PH to play a little bit. We agreed to text when one of us was done. 30 seconds after KM stepped away, I found a Buffalo Grand game. I put in $40 and in short order ended up hitting a handy! Yay!
After collecting, I wandered around a little bit but could not replicate the magic of that first machine. I decided to text KM and see if she was ready to head back over to Cosmo. She met up with me and we walked back to Cosmo. She apparently had been getting her butt handed to her and opted to head to the room to ounge in the tub. I was still feeling froggy so I headed over to the Buffalo Deluxe machines outside the HL room and after about 45 minutes hit again! Yay
    [IMG]

I continued on, thinking I could not lose! (I could....) and after a few hours of treading water, headed up to the room. Night Night Vegas... Tomorrow we go home.

    Wed Jan 3rd:
Checked with the Host, who comped off my entire hotel bill (except tips of course) and offered a ride to the airport. We had an amazing trip and so much fun. And it was the first time, in a long time, I returned with almost my entire bankroll in my pocket. Now that is a win!

    Thanks for reading. :)
