It'll be my first trip to NOLA harrahs.
Took the offer for two flights and 4 nights flying out of LAX.
Going with my brother who's not a gambler.
We plan to do walking tour and hopefully plantation tour.

Any suggestions for Things to see things to eats are appreciated.

    Thanks

Good luck. Today is Fat Tuesday so arriving on the second day of Lenten season should be interesting.

FWIW: I'm giving up tofu for Lent.

Bourbon street is always an interesting time. There is incredible eats all around. Beignets from Cafe Du Monde is an absolute must though.

If you want to venture out from the touristy areas check out Parkway Tavern for a good poboy. The Bulldog on magazine street in garden district for some craft beers. The Avenue Pub and Rusty Nail are a couple of my favorite locals places. Courtyard Brewery is nice if the weather is good. And if you’re a beer person checkout NOLA Brewbus, I know the guy who owns & operates it. They do themed tours and are always changing up where they go.

If you tire of Bourbon street go to Frenchman st, much better live music.

Antoine's has great food and 25¢ martinis.

The sculpture garden at NOMA is really neat.

Mr Bs bistro has great BBQ shrimp

Carousel Bar at Hotel Monteleone is a fun experience.

    Tour some of the mausoleums

    Airboat ride the swamps

    Garden district tour.

Enjoy a mufellata, i prefer warm. Check out Napoleon house.

    Benegits!

Lastly, don't get the flu day 2 of your trip like I did 2 weeks ago in NOLA

Excited to here this TR, i really enjoyed my time visiting there a few months ago. Central Grocery had the best mufaletta I've ever had and it's close to Cafe du Monde which had great coffee with milk and beignets.

    Things to see:
WWII museum is a must with the 4D movie. (Go early in case you want to spend a lot of time there, u can make it an all day tour as there is plenty to see)
Riverboat Tour on mississippi, weather will be warm while your here almost 80 toward end of week.
For music preservation hall is great true jazz small intimate setting with no amplification or microphones, go early and possibly buy tickets in advance(right next to pat obriens)

    Food:
Lots of the famous high end restaurants are open for lunch like Emerils, for a little bit of a better price.

    Gw fins (great fish)
    Palace cafe (crabmeat cheescake appetizer)

Yes wash hands a lot, louisiana had the highest flu cases in country when flu started last year.

Watch the areas you walk in, stay near groups, and be aware of your surroundings.

Man oh Man, I could write a couple pages about what you could do. I'll give you the short list.

    Food

Oysters at Bourbon House. Breakfast at Fleur di Lis Cafe and Ruby Slipper. Crawfish Po Boy at French Market Gazeboo, along with an alcoholic shake for lunch.
Mona Lisa Pizza at the west side of the French quarter is pretty good place for pizza. Get out of the quarter and check out Frenchmen street. Definitely get coffee and beignets at Cafe Du Monde.

Brunch at Court of the Two Sisters

    If your into history.

The museum at The Cabildo is pretty cool. It's right at Jackson Square Lots of colonial history and background on when the French and Spanish controlled NOLA. The Katrina exhibit is pretty cool as well.

Get out and check out St. Louis Cemetery #1, the famous leaders of NOLA buried there t is pretty cool. Chalmette battlefield up river.
Visit the Old Mint on Esplande

    Music and drinks
    I like
Musical Legends Park to chill on bourbon street and hear some good local musicians. Jazz Playhouse is also pretty cool. Skip Pat O'Brien's unless you want to check it off your bucket list.

Definitely check out the Carousel Piano Bar & Lounge in Hotel Monteleone for a drink. Very cool hotel bar.

    Upscale dinner

GW Finns is my new favorite Sea Food restaurant in NOLA.

Commanders Palace is a close second, if you don't mind going uptown past garden district.

Feel free to PM me. Wife and I have been going to NOLA the past 15 years and I have family in LA. Love that city!

Great call on WWII museum, i went 2 years ago and it was really well done. You need two days to see and do everything.

I've been a few times, last time I went was a few years ago on D-day which is also the anniversary of the museum. It's one the very few times each year they do tours aboard the Higgins landing craft along with having ceremonies for some of the veterans and lots of people in the uniforms from wwii

If you thought that was good, palace cafe on canal street is even better. It's also a Brennan's restaurant and is better prepared and better sevice, and better atmosphere for about the same price. Red fish grill is very touristy being located at beginning of bourbon street, and the service and quality is not as good as palace cafe. Don't get me wrong red fish grill is good, If going to redfish I go for lunch because their bbq shrimp & bbq oyster poboys are great, but dinner I go to palace cafe over redfish.

Yeah constant losing sessions made me abandon harrahs. I prefer the gulf coast, RTP is better there. New Orleans corrupt greedy ways helps to keep that RTP set very low. The video poker machines located in bars (3 allowed per bar) is also a joke. I believe the payback on the video poker in bars and restaurants is somewhere around 70%.
