    I really wasn’t overly concerned, but other casinos and hotels were definitely more visible in their efforts. All properties have signs up with the screening questions, but I was really surprised Cosmo didn’t ask any screening questions or have temperature checks at check-in as I thought that was mandated. NYNY did.

    I have fairly high risk tolerance and I’m ok with fending for myself and moving along if I don’t like what I see, so I’d have no problem mid-week, it might even be ok on a non-holiday weekend. I’d like to know what people thought of other casinos this weekend to make a solid judgement.

    Part of it really was the crowd that was there Friday, seemed to be more of an MGM fight weekend group than a Cosmo group. Not much regard for folks around them at all. Maybe they usually hang out in the clubs or maybe they knew Cosmo was less restrictive?

    True, but in general the grass is always greener somewhere else. I mean, sitting at home I'd rather be in Vegas but at the same time this is the view a few blocks from my house every night on the west coast of Lake Huron:

    Another great trip report. Wonderful hand pay, makes me rethink my balance of VP/Slots/Black Jack. Just might have to slot around a bit more. Thanks for sharing hope our trips align again in the future.

    The honest truth about NYNY, they will never check your temperature or screen you if you check in via the online app OR you check in via the VIP area. They only screen the regular check in line. It was interesting.

    I do think the forehead scans are a little useless during this time of year. They do temperature checks at the Hermes store in Crystals and I occasionally ask them to scan me just out of curiosity, and it's almost always a couple degrees higher than my actual thermometer temperature.

    And of course, the original USA Versailles.... Ver-sales pronounced, is in Kentucky (just outside of Lexington by the horse farms, you know..Calumet, Claiborne, Spendthrift, etc.)

    That latter part is definitely possible, and Cosmo also tends to skew a lot younger, so it's partially the same crowd that was packing Miami Beach and bars in Texas. At the end of the day, it's one thing to take my own risks, but the mask thing isn't about you personally, it's about everyone around you. I actually considered going in to Cosmo to get a Lardo sandwich on my way back from the office today, but decided it wasn't worth it. In addition, I think this is going to come around to bite them because (1) it's going to bring a lot more scrutiny on Vegas, the Strip, and them in particular, and (2) for every person that might go there because they're more lax, at this point there's another person who won't set foot in the place until they get their act together. I know everyone's entitled to their own position and I say this not to advocate, but just objectively speaking, I think we can all agree that it's not a good look for them.

    "Basic but certainly serviceable" is exactly how I'd describe the NYNY rooms. I've definitely stayed in much, much worse hotels (looking at you, Best Western Kent Narrows), but it's still better than the average random motel (still looking at you, Best Western Kent Narrows). Their casino floor is one of my favorites, and the Greenwich Village shop/restaurant area is incredibly nostalgic for me as someone who grew up in NYC.
    Speaking of NYC, see also, "Houston Street". Pronounced "house-ton".

    @Texas Steph @Hoofy7

    What happen to Hoofy7?

    Sorry I'm going to have to miss out on Vegas till this is over.

    Till then I'll just have to live thru VFers.

    Yessssss, so MUCH FUN!!! The laughs, the WTH is she wearing, the "arm turbulence", the wins, the drinks and food, and yes even the mask nazi's!! I'd LUV to rewind and do it all again!! So very glad I gave in to the impulse to head out AGAIN to hang out with everyone, and I'd do it again in a heartbeat! Kind, genuine, fun and funny... I'm telling you all, if you ever get the chance to hang out with this bunch, it will be time well spent! Oh and Wisco, don't forget @GlenCoco and A! You can't help but smile when those two are around (which wasn't near enough!) You guys rock!!
    We WILL do it again!

    *** yes, I said mask nazi's! When you're on the slot floor, playing and/or watching a game with your ciggie to your lips, and a worker comes up to you and says "you need to have your mask on in between puffs" and yet you haven't had a chance to exhale... the stress of it all had "somebody" so flustered that she exhaled INTO her mask more than once!

    This is what drove me nuts. You had this, then you had people just wandering around with a drink in their hand and the mask down, and guys at the bar with a lit cigar and no mask who hadn’t taken a drag in 20 mins. Pick a policy and stick to it!

    Oh, and that person yelling “Where’s the damn multiplier, Dave??” was really annoying.
