    Hi VF members,
If anyone is famialar with Pai Gow poker, my favorite game overall, can you help with this hand?
    Dealer 777 9 10 low, AJ high
    Me AAKQ 865

I split AA into AQ865 and put AK on top.
Dealer and floor say foul hand. They then say if you put AQ up top its ok, and let me change it?
Can someone help explian this? I know all the rules except, is it really ok to split say KK or AA and use as top only if the second highest kicker is used?

The 5 card hand has to be better than the 2 card hand. In your example, AQ is worse than AK, so it is a foul. You would need AK in the 5 card hand and AQ in the 2 card hand, which would have resulted in a push.

I guess we'll let you join...
Yeah, strength of 5-card hand must be stronger than the 2-card hand. Nice of them to let you reset it.
