Well gave Palms a decent chunk of play my last trip to Vegas and they are just like the strip casinos with their offers. New player card no history and ran through 25k coin in on penny slots first day plus $50 avg bet at blackjack for a few hours. Loved the atmosphere there and the machines actually played some. Also placed a $1000 bet on the Timberwolves in Sacramento and won easily. Went back the next day to collect $1950. Played heavy again running through another 25k coin through.

Overall on the trip I was a net winner but not much thanks to the winning sports bet and some luck on the blackjack tables. In fact the entire trip of 7 days I came out ahead 6k on blackjack and lost about 5k on slots. Paid for BSB tix and all the other expenses and threw down $300 on the Blackhawks at 6.5 to 1 to win the Cup and came home even.

Nonetheless, the Palms offers are pretty lousy. $50 FP a week and a couple free hotel nights.

In conclusion, I thought if I gave enough action at the Palms Id get some decent offers to come back. $50 is almost as insulting as the 2-3 "amazing you dont want to miss this offer" emails I get from Caesars daily and when I open it its a piddly $25 casino play after consecutively losing 3-5k at their casinos lol.

I'm beginning to wonder what good it is in using a players card anymore.

Wow, I'm shocked that was the follow up offer you had for that play! Yikes, sorry!

Anyone else have any similar or good experience with their offers? I'm curious now.....it's been several years since I played there and it was only a days drop in play. Agree it's a decent vibe there, I recall in the day we did play we had a Handpay and thought the food carts they brought through the casino floor complimentary with doughnuts etc was fun. Not sure if they still do that?

I've never seen a food cart at the Palms. How long ago was that?

Palms is owned by Stations now and their comps are pretty stingy.

Being owned by Stations now, don't expect much. I stop in every so often and get at least $25k coin-in per visit. My "reward": 2 nights and $25 FP per week. I don't even get FP with my room at GVR.

Palms was pretty stingy with offers before Stations bought them, really. But Stations is very stingy with offers. Based on play at Red Rock and Green Valley Ranch, I'm getting $200 free play and $50 dining credit offers on $30k plus coin in (slots and video poker).

They used to have Stay & Play offers that offered up to $1000 more free play incrementally ($1000 at $100k coin in), so I did that a couple times. Then one time I did $175k one day on one of those offers and my regular offer went up to $500 free play and $100 dining.

Stingy. The only advantage is that the free play from those regular monthly offers (that are sent for two months at a time) is that you can book another offer with free play, get THAT offer free play, and then swipe at the kiosk to accept your regular monthly free play. You just won't get the dining credit.

Since Stations took over Palms I haven't played there, but we dropped in one day and did $5,299 coin in on my husband's card (video poker) and he's getting offers with 2 free nights and $50 free play which is actually kinda generous for that amount of play.

I bet it was 2014. It was a two level cart- like a bread cart that restaurants use. A gal was just randomly pushing it through the machines, I totally remember bags of those little donuts, and I know there was other stuff. Just asked if you wanted anything right at your slot machine. We ALMOST decided to make that our home property just for that reason alone. :) Will have to dig through my old trip reports as I'm sure I took pics.

Sounds like a "typical" station offer for that play.
I remember getting those offers years ago from Stations with just $2000 coin in. Last five years they haven't sent me anything more than a weekday comped room after cycling $5000 or so on slots.

As per several reports, the so-called "world's largest Hooters", which cost over $2 million to build, is closing sometime in May (I don't think it was more than 2 years old). No word on what might go Into the vacated space.

UPDATE: May 11 is confirmed by the Palms as the closing date.

Geez, it sounds like anything and everything the Palms puts in that particular spot ends up failing...

Sounds like par for the course for the Palms... $50 FP/week = $200 FP/month. The weird thing is that it makes for a very wide range of coin-in which would qualify for the $200/month. I've gotten that mailer off of $25k coin-in on video poker in one month, but you did $50k coin-in in two days.

I don't know what goes on with the main group of Station casinos when they're trying to decide mailers. Last year I averaged over $100k coin-in per month at Red Rock. My mailers went as high as $270 FP/month + $30 food credit, but by the end of the year settled down to the low end of $90 FP + buffets.
