How bad is the construction noise? I could stay there and play and eat mostly at Aria but not if I'll be awakened at 6 am. Went through that at the D and it was intolerable.

Based on the fact that they are offering me 3 free nights and resort credit and I haven't played at MGM properties in years it must be awful, right?

I haven't stayed in the rooms there recently and can't speak to the noise, but the construction itself is incredibly disruptive. Half the casino floor is blocked off, almost all of the restaurants and bars are closed, and there's no pool. I don't think the offer you got is a sign that it's awful -- that's no different an offer than they'd give for Luxor, etc. -- it's more a sign that MGM management doesn't really appreciate how bad it is.

I know you said you're willing to play and eat at Aria, but I'd question whether it's worth it to deal with that hassle just to get the free nights at Monte Carlo. That part is your call, though!

I would rate it somewhere between unstayable and the old Imperial Palace. I will let you know more next week but as of 3 weeks ago parts of the casino floor and many of the restaurants are covered up. I can imagine construction noise is an issue. Basically you have a room and half a casino. Major PITA factor to even get a quick sandwich or a drink. Stay far away.

Until the food court closes (dunno when that will happen, but it was open as of 9/8) it won't be a major PITA to get a quick snack or drink as that is right by the hotel lobby. But food options as a whole will be limited for sure.

If I could guarantee I could get a quiet room (possibly a tall order now, but got one at Spring Fling facing T-Mobile Arena), I would stay there for the right price. I never played much there anyway, but have stayed there multiple times. The walk to Aria is terribly boring now since there aren't shops, but still not bad from the room elevator bank.

Anyone who hates leaving their home casino should definitely not stay there now though.

I did notice that they have now added Nighthawk and Nightingale rooms. From the square footage these appear to be the old Monaco Suites, unlike the old rooms these only have one bathroom instead of two. Hopefully they combined them into one better large bathroom.

We walked through the property on our way to Park Theater a few weeks ago and I would agree with the posters who advised to wait a while before staying here.

Please update if you remember :) Staying here two nights in October, as it was the only resort I could get comped that week. But I am having second thoughts now...

Supposedly the casino is getting a little bit better, but there's still definitely no pool, the traffic to/from Park Theatre is going to be a mess, and literally the only restaurants open are Primrose, Diablo's, and Double Barrel (800 Degrees is open as of today, but is closing imminently), plus the food court. I'd agree with tring -- if you like spending most of your time at your home casino, then Monte Carlo is not a good idea. If you're just using it as a place to sleep, then it's not a terrible option.

Thanks for the update! It will primarily be used as a place to sleep so I think I will stick with it. I like any MGM propertly really, so they're all my home casinos.

I was just there yesterday and one of the craps dealers told me they will be gutting Diablo's next month as well as a few other restaurants to make room for the new ones that will be part of The Park MGM (fka Monte Carlo). The actual remodel looks sharp! It will be exciting to see when complete. Another year of construction is planned.

Not sure they have that many restaurants left to gut! But yes, they've been reporting for a while that Diablo's will be closing some time this year, and I can't imagine Double Barrel fitting in with the new space, either. Given how all-in they're going on Eataly, I could imagine more Batali and Bastianich places moving in; for example, B&B Burgers is closing over at V/P and could be a decent replacement for Double Barrel, and they have a bunch of brands that could serve as a fine-dining replacement for d. vino. Then again, Diablo's big draw was always its real estate, food-wise it doesn't really compare to either Gonzalez y Gonzelz or Javier's.

So what options are there to eat currently? They're giving a $100 food credit but if all the food places are closed...wth haha

Primrose, Diablo's, and Double Barrel (plus I think Sambalatte serves snacks/sandwiches and such). 800 Degrees is still open as of today, at least according to the website, but as mentioned, they're closing very soon and I wouldn't count on them being around when you're there.

On that note, does anybody know if you currently book a stay at Monte Carlo and they offer you a resort credit whether it can be used at other Mlife properties during construction? With the ongoing construction, a lot of the dining venues are no longer available e.g. buffet, etc. Would one be able to wander over to dine at NYNY or the buffet at MGM and use the resort credit? Looking for comments from someone in the know or who has stayed there recently, not just visited.

This isn't specific to Monte Carlo -- the general advice is, call and check. Sometimes offers have property-specific resort credit, more commonly it's for anything you charge back to your room, but there's no overall MGM policy on this. Knowing what someone had on their particular offer doesn't necessarily mean that yours will be the same. Not trying to be unhelpful, it just isn't a question that lends itself to an omnibus answer.

No prob. Called the Monte Carlo Front Desk this morning and they indicated a "YES" for dining at other Mlife restaurant venues during construction. The resort credit can be used for this purpose as long as it is charged back to the room.

So... I was there this week (but didn't stay there) and it's weird. I couldn't even get my bearings, and most of the casino is walled off. Not sure if I love the Park decor in the lobby. I hope it's not the permanent lobby. It looks kind of like a bank, with little booths like voting booths with self check in machines. There are what look like tree branches in the ceiling and a floral motif. I got really turned around and confused trying to picture where things used to be. Primrose looks very pretty, though. The only other food options I saw were a sign for Bavette's (not open yet) and Starbucks.

Hopefully one which primarily takes withdrawals!
