I am a 69 year old male in decent shape for my age. By the way, I do not play video games such as Xbox etc. Every tournament, my hand ends up cramping so bad from smacking the button that I must change hands and it ends up costing lots of lost points.

At the casino, they say speed is what wins, hit the buttons quickly to max the points. In these 2 minute tournaments at Yaamava, I ain't making it.

I tried using a grip exerciser for my hands but it didn't do anything for endurance, in fact my score ended up even lower.

My goal is to try to hit the top 10 or 20.

How do you prepare for a slot tournament? I really would like to know.

Serious question: Are you hydrating enough prior to the contest? While a cramp can be fatigue it could also be due to a lack of glycose and water in the system. I would suggest trying to eat a meal with some carbs prior to the contest and drinking a lot more liquids (water and Gatorade) if you're having cramping issues. By carbs I mean complex carbs such as pasta, pancakes etc. Not simple carbs like candy and processed sugar.

    Also, good luck.

Those slot tournaments are serious business. I have yet to break the top 100 and looking for some good pointers prior to my next one.

    Que the rocky montage.

Good info about the meal and drinks before the tournament. And yes it is a serious business. I play in the monthly Yaamava Star Card tournament which is open to veterans, first responders etc which usually has about 200 or so competitors- and I have been in the money 3 out of the last 4 months(40 bucks or so.) My dream is to win about a thousand in free play and then run that through the video poker machines. I usually convert free play at around 95+% on dollar bonus poker or jacks or better. Nice payday for a retiree on social security.

I usually wear wrist weights when alone at night. Builds up the strength and stamina

Just my 2 cents but... I find most people hit the spin button rapidly, but unless a 2nd press of the button actually stops the reels early on the tournament machine, then there's no need to smash the button while the reels are in motion. Yes, ideally you want to get as many spins in as possible, but at the end of the day, you still need a great deal of luck to win a tournament. It will either be your day---or it won't.

The machines that they use at Yaamava for tournaments are open at other times for regular play. Looks like I need to try this approach out in practice runs.
