I've ordered from Amazon Prime to my hotel and handed a $25 charge from the hotel for a holding fee, lol. So I'm not sure if it's worth it or if I was just special ;)

Most hotels have "package delivery" or holding fees. I thought they mostly saved these for big stuff, like if you delivered boxes of brochures to the hotel before a trade show...? Choosing to apply them to things like prime grocery deliveries? Bah.

    The Ascendance of Fees.

I used to shop online and have the packages delivered to the hotel. I was always charged per package and the amount was based on the size of the package.

Regular Prime probably usually uses UPS. I think Prime Now operates differently

Amazon employs their own drivers for Prime Now.

It's only a matter of time before Amazon has a teleportation box in every house and hotel room for instant delivery. :)

Didn't someone on this board use it recently to save themselves a Walgreen's run?

Just back from Vegas. Stayed at Cosmo. Used Amazon Prime Now to order room supplies. Water. Coffee pods (we bring a small Keurig with us.) Cocktail mixers. And some snacks. Before leaving for Vegas I set up Cosmo in my Amazon addresses (my name c/o Cosmo). Already had my Amazon Prime Now cart filled with what we wanted to order. When we arrived at the hotel I placed the order. Received a notification when the delivery driver was close. Met the driver at the front of the hotel (bell desk, in fact). Carried everything up to the room. Was very easy and convenient. Highly recommend.

Nah, they do it for everything they can. Hell, they ding me $6 for receiving a FedEx envelope.

Roughly how long did it take to arrive once the order was placed?

Once you place the order there is a two hour window for delivery. The order arrived within that two hours. In fact, I believe it arrived closer to an hour after I placed the order.

Do they sell likker and day old half pizzas at room temperature? You know, breakfast.

This is a great business idea, that the resort operators are surely going to shut down or figure out how get a piece of the action for.
I can't imagine someone like Murren or Steve Wynn are going to stand by while hotel guests start rolling supplies up to a room.

Steve mused once about people rolling coolers into his hotel. The Sundry shop in hotels are already being killed off by Walgreens, I think this could ding
hotel revenues. I would totally use this service in Vegas out of sheer convenience!

Up until a couple of years ago, I'd have Vons deliver to whatever hotel I was staying at first on a trip. I had enough stuff so that I always used the bell service, which probably helped.

But the first time I ever stayed at Cosmo, Cosmo charged me $20 if the Vons driver came into the drop off area, even to hand off to the bell. The driver even knew and warned me about it.

Last couple of years at Cosmo, I get a ride to do the supermarket run, and I've never had a problem unloading a couple of banana boxes full of groceries from a private car and handing them off to the bell.

I'm not sure enough people do it for the hotels to really start policing it, but you never know.

Still, I don't see those going away any time soon. Case in point, Aria's is massive, and I'm sure they'd repurpose that space in half a second if it made financial sense. Those shops have a built-in audience (i.e., people who don't want to walk all the way to Walgreens/CVS just because they forgot Advil or an energy drink), and the markups are crazy.
