While the fountain view rooms at Cosmo are considered the premium view for the property and have their own category when booking, does anyone know if Cosmo's "strip view" rooms are considered an upgrade, or just subject to availability upon check in? By "strip view", I'm referring to rooms on the east side of the Boulevard tower. Maybe I'm missing something, but I don't think I've ever seen strip view rooms listed as a booking option or upgrade on Cosmo's website.

As I recall, a while ago someone here on VF (it might have been @IrishDave) mentioned that they were staying in a strip view room at Cosmo and really enjoyed the view. I have a standard terrace studio booked for my upcoming trip in a few weeks, and although I've stayed in a fountain view room many times, I've never had a room on the east side of the Boulevard tower. I'll probably touch base with my host and ask, but I'm just curious if others have been able to request a strip view room. Thanks!

Not exactly answering your question.....We like the Blvd tower and there have been a couple of occasions where the fountain view was not available upon check in that tower and we were given a strip view room. Not sure if you can request - it's possible through your host. We still prefer the fountain view.

I’ve never been charged extra for a Strip view room so I don’t think it’s an upgrade. It’s a pretty view but can be loud from Planet Hollywood. And the sun during the day can be super bright.

I've stayed in a "terrace one-bedroom" (not really one bdr, the one with the small tub) there a couple of times and really like it. Not sure if the blvd tower has any regular terrace rooms on the strip side, but it's not an upgrade, just a non-fountain view. I've added it to special requests and always got it when I asked. Here's the view from one of the rooms. As @claired67 said, they can be a little noisy

I have specifically asked my host for a view of PH and the airport in the Boulevard Tower and he was able to get me that room without any issues. He didn't understand why I didn't want the fountain view, but he got me the room I asked for. :)

In the summer with the pools open, there is a lot of noise from the PH, Paris, and Cromwell pools.

And you didn't ask, but I got a southern view once toward Mandarin Oriental and the sun was almost overwhelming in the summer.

The south facing rooms are brutal in the summer

Beautiful photos! That view of PH is one of the best I’ve seen.

Thanks for posting a link to your pictures, @IrishDave. I remembered them from one of your past trip reports, but I couldn't remember which one. I'm going to touch base with my host to see if any terrace studios are available on the east side of the Boulevard tower and see if I can request a room on that side for my visit.

On a side note, I've stayed in south facing rooms in the past, and although they can get a little warm in the summer (not that I'm in the room all that much during the day anyway), I actually kind of like the view of the airport and watching the planes come and go. Given a choice, I'd take a south facing room in the Boulevard tower over a west facing room any day. The views from the west facing rooms aren't all that impressive.

Haha West is my favourite. I'm a little meh on east. I don't go in the summer but my wraparounds have had south both times and I spent the most time on that balcony. I was sick both times though. I really miss the sofas out there.

I find the actual directions confusing. Fountain, mountains, Strip, Aria. All have positive attributes. I love the canoe sculpture.

The only reason I know the directions is because I know which way South Point is. It's nowhere near the strip but it is how I navigate which way I am going. :D

Had a similar issue at Cosmo. We don’t care about the fountain view, it’s just a nice to have. I’d rather a better room than a view. Like I’d take a terrace 1 one bed or terrace suite no view over a terrace studio fountain view.
