    I feel this is a @claired67 question...

So I've been going to the Cosmo for YEARS but have never actually been to the pool. The BF and I have a reservation for a premium daybed at the Chelsea Pool in a few weeks (on a Tuesday -- I don't do Vegas on the weekend.) It says check in is between 9-11am. Does check in mean "be there and ready for your pool day" or does it mean "check in so we know that you'll be here, and then start your pool day whenever you'd like?"

We have breakfast reservations at 9am (so weird to make breakfast reservations, but they made my last trip sooo much easier.) The plan was to eat and then hightail it to the pool. But I'm wondering if I can check in, then go downstairs and eat, and then not feel rushed to get to the pool.

I know Chelsea gets more sun than Blvd, but we wanted something quieter. (We're not party people.)

Also any recommendations/tips for pool-ing greatly welcomed!

I think you can go either way, so long as check in is by 11. I think I'd have breakfast and then go. Usually when we check in we are immediately introduced to the server and the cabana host. They typically want to put in our first order of the day. I really like the Chelsea vibe--we have a daybed next week there. You are 100% correct about the sun. We had a previous daybed there and even with the staff moving the umbrella--it only seemed to shade the people behind us. Enjoy!

I haven't been to the Cosmo daybeds, but have done cabanas and daybeds at many places, and generally you do need to check in by 11am, but you can come and go as you please. I did a Mandalay cabana back in the fall; I checked in to make sure they didn't give away the reservation, then left to run a couple errands. Especially during the summer, there's usually a waitlist, so if you don't check in there's a risk.

I’ve called before to let them know I would late but that I was coming and they were fine with it. My SIL had a daybed at Chelsea that she checked into, stayed for a few hours, left for lunch, and then went back. They will take your ID and credit card when you check in (just so you know). I really love it at the pool.

The runners do so much work and are the nicest people-I’ll bring some cash for their tip. (Of course tipping is up to you and it’s automatically added but I don’t think the guys see that much of it. )

Oh -- good to know on the runners. I'll make sure to bring some cash as well -- I always seem to end up with a wad of singles after gambling so I'll put them to good use.

Ugh you think the runners don’t get much of it? I would have tipped them if I thought that when I was there :(

Yep, communication is key, at Cosmo and everywhere else. As long as they know you're not just gonna no-show, then it's usually fine. It helps them, and helps the other people who might want to go.

There used to be a line on the bill just for them but it’s gone now. So that’s why I think that. My face has been in shade all day. I appreciate them so much.

It gets taxed, and I can't rightfully argue against that, but that said, a couple bucks for cash is the way to go. They should be reporting it and getting taxed on it, but at least it's going right to them.

I've checked in early a few times for them, I'll get my spot and meet the server, and then just let them know I'll be doing xyz until this time and then I'll be back for the day.

If you go early you've got a better chance of picking a location for yourself. If you come closer to that 11 am hour you're just going to get what's left.
