    Hello all,

I will be in Las Vegas for my bday in June and was looking for a recommendation. Some of my favorite places to eat at are Carbone and Sage etc but have not really tried too many of the strip "steakhouses". Sort of leaning towards a really nice seafood or steak dinner.

Two places we were considering were Zuma at Cosmo or Gordon Ramsay Steak. From reading trip reports and reviews online, a lot of the strip steak houses are rated all over the place. Not really looking to get wagyu or something way over the top but a nice big steak. I have dined at a lot of the steakhouses on Fremont and Andiamo's has been by far my favorite. I know I will get something hopefully better but at a much higher cost being on the strip.

I will be staying at Aria so something not too far would be ideal.

    Steakhouses

    Gordon Ramsay Steak
    Cosmopolitian STK
    CraftSteak
    Prime Steakhouse
    CUT
    ???

    Seafood

    Aquaknox
    Zuma
    ???

Any recommendations would be appreciated !!!

I'm a huge fan of StripSteak ... have had just fantastic experiences there since it opened, and I feel like it's getting better. Prime also has been superb lately.

Love Joe's for seafood. L'Atelier if you're looking to go that route of the higher end. I also think the steakhouses tend to have great seafood.

Bit outside the box, but Bardot Brasserie and Bouchon both do excellent fish.

I'll echo @dannyocean here with StripSteak and also add Charlie Palmer while we're at the MB complex. Very different styles and I've had great experiences with both...

Since you're leaning to either seafood or steak, I'd split the difference and hit Joes. In my regular rotation (and no comps there so I pay out of pocket). Never disappoints, great atmosphere great service. Can go steak or seafood and can't go wrong either way.

Steakhouses I would say Prime, then Carnevino then BLT. I think Ramsay is too inconsistent at those prices, and that STK is more of a "scene" place than a food focused steakhouse. I have not been to the Vegas location of Cut, but I found the LA flagship sterile.

For seafood, I would look to Costa di Mare or Estiatorio Milos for top-level seafood.
Zuma is fusion to me, not primarily seafood focused.

Mastro's Oceans Club at Crystals has great steak options as well as seafood options. Save room for the warm butter cake.

Really appreciate everyone's advice here! You have made my decision a lot easier. We will be eating at Prime in the Bellagio, your recommendations plus the option to have the fountain view over dinner has sold me. Now just need to figure out what to order :)

Will definitely check out StripSteak too, it looks amazing.

StripSteak is the one at PH, right? How's the ambiance there?

It's not fancy but I like it. Wide open floor space. You can see in the Kitchen from just about anywhere

I'll throw my 2 cents in for Tender at Luxor
sure you won't get bragging rights like some of the other places, but value for money? yes

We have eaten thrice at RM Seafood at MB. Great steaks and seafood flights that were fab.

Lakeside at the Wynn is also a good Seafood option.

Ha! Made reservations this morning at Prime for my birthday trip in June as well, before even seeing this thread! Hopefully it's some kind of sign that we'll both have great meals and great birthdays, @MatthewNL.

Now, I wonder what the sign is to indicate we'll both be big winners on our trips...

We are eating at BLT tomorrow, using the Travelzoo deal. I'll post pictures and a review in my TR. That being said, I don't think you can go wrong at Prime. Great food and ambience.

We had a good experience at BLT. I could just eat the popovers with the Vermont Cultured Butter.
