The same thing has happened to some other people I know who were surprised when they got another comp offer from Wynn a few weeks after using one and not giving them any play. What we later guessed but may not be correct is that Wynn Marketing had new offers scheduled to go out and the lack of play on the last comped didn't hit their computers in time to alert marketing to the lack of play, so another good offer was generated. One of those people then used the new offer but again low played them and found out after that visit they didn't get anymore offers. However since he preferred to stay at Palazzo he was good with that. For anyone who might want to keep up a relationship though with Wynn for future comps they would want to give them lots of play on the next visit to ensure the comp offers continue.

I can attest to this as well from past experience a few years ago.

Quick question , once you start to earn discretionary comps on a given trip that means you have already played off the comp value of your stay excluding further charges?

I know it will eventually catch up with me. The room they put my brother in over G2E was a panoramic king on the 51st floor. It was a really gorgeous room. I prefer it to my room at Palazzo, BUT I like to sit at the bar and low roll on VP to have a few drinks before I hit the slot floor. Wynn doesn't comp drinks at their bars for some reason which I find really odd. If it wasn't for that, I'd stay AND play there more. I figure I'll just use what I can get until the offers dry up. I may play on my husbands card to get new offers when that happens as he never uses his when we are there. ;)

It's always been my understanding that first you have to play off the value of your current offer you are on before they start comping off additional charges. With Wynn the hosts seem to have a bit more power then some other properties in using discretionary comps, while I know other groups like M-Life and Grazie the hosts mainly have to go with what their computer system tells them.

More intel for the team: Just did a basic three-night Encore comp with $300 FP plus a couple free buffets. Gave them about 14,000 points worth of play. At the end of the stay, I asked a host where I stood with any additional comps (the "dreaded ask"). He said my room was covered, but they don't even consider coughing up add-ons like FB until you hit 7K points/day. Of course he used slightly more refined language than that. :)

For slots, that sounds about right. 7000 points is $10,500 slot coin-in, which should roughly be $1000 theo. Room plus $100 FP/day is probably valued at $300 or more a day in comps.

Just another data point, just got back from 3 nights plus $400 freeplay (and limo to and from the airport) did just uber 33k slot points and 5 hours of bj at $145 ave.

The offer said additional comps after 15k slot points but I only got another 250 food on the back end. If you count the free play in the total comp it's not far out of expectation, but another 18k points and the blackjack play is a lot for only $250 ... something like 3 grand Theo...

Data point from my trip that just ended. As I mentioned in my trip report, I had an offer for three nights and $750 FP. I ended up getting upgraded to a Parlor Suite based on my play last time I guess? Still not sure how I qualified.

Anyway I earned about 11,500 pts on Saturday night, only about 3k Sunday, and last night did another 9k for a total of 23,500. Based on what I've read here and other places, I thought I might be able to get more comped off. I had about $630 in room charges.

Went to see the slot host this morning and, while she was very nice, she told me she wasn't able to take anything additional off my bill because I was in a PS. She said if I had been in a regular room with my comp, I could've gotten another $400 or so. She was nice enough to remove some random mini bar charges but that was it.

I did mention that I'd read that they expect about 5000 pts per day for a regular room and 7000 pts for a suite, was that correct? She said that's about right but for a Parlor Suite, they wanted 20,000 pts per day! Then she goes, "it's not worth it." She then gave me her card and told her to contact her next time.

So basically that will be the only time I'll ever stay in that room in my life. LOL.

Wow, 20k!! Thanks for the update on that, great info. Nice of the host to give you the insight and at least a few incidentals- just too bad you didn't know in advance of the trip!

It's totally OK - the trade off of having $400 comped off or the Parlor Suite? I'd take the suite every time. It was that amazing, especially for two girls staying together.

But if 20,000 points (~$3000 theo) vs. 5000 for reg. room (~$750 theo) is typically expected, is ~$2250 extra in theo a night worth it?

If you played up to their normal expectation for that room (60,000 points for 3 nights), the you probably would have had about an extra $2250 in comps to play with if you stayed a standard room.

But of course I mostly just use a room to sleep in Vegas so as long as it's clean...

That's interesting Jen. When I stayed there in September, I was in a normal room with $400 FP. I earned 22,000 points and got nothing off the backend when I asked. At the time I was surprised and seems like i should have gotten something off.

Did you talk to your/a host? I know my offer said additional comps after 5k points a day...
I'm sure I got dinged for the upgrade to pano which is pretty much worthless to me as well as the limo.. on check out I talked to the on duty host but I get the feeling if I didn't and push hard I wouldn't have even had the 250 backend I got

Cheaper to pay for it each night and not even gamble then.

It was 7500 pts per day for rfb is what I was always told

I'm not sure if I have a host at Wynn. I went to the red card booth and asked and was given my answer. Is there a different office/location I should have visited?

I don't play at Wynn, but wouldn't that be only $11,250 coin in? I never understood what "RFB" really meant... how much is the "FB" part? Especially at a place like Wynn, you could easily run up restaurant bills 2-3x the cost of the room ordering from the middle of the menu.

I'm in the same boat, marketing tells me I have a host but the website says I don't. I've communicated by email and received voicemails from her but never met.

There is a hosts office over near the casino cage where you can talk to someone. They say table games >host office slots>red card, but since I do a little of both I'd use the hosts office...
