Vegas? 3 weeks after I was just in Vegas? Yup! Finally found time to go on vacation with my old football teammate. No wives, kids or shits given.

2 nights at Mandalay Bay. 2 nights at Resorts World, yet again. A dozen casinos hit. And an actually fancy dinner at Carversteak.

As always, if anyone has any questions on something we saw or did, just LMK!

Yay! I always love your reports!

FWIW - I think what you saw at Aria may have been them putting the machines back in? We were there a few weeks ago and that entire end of the floor by the poker room had been cleared out and replaced with poker tables. Assumed it was something capitalizing on WSOP crowd, but was a bummer as a few of my favorite machines are normally over there and were nowhere to be found.

wow... so, are you done with RW? Or just done with that host?
I've been having the same experience at Wynn -- trying to move over but def not feeling any kind of love. Not that I'm remotely close to high roller.. but def not the sub-$1 spin crowd either. The Wynn base rooms are very nice, which is the minimum requirement for me. Next time it's a split between TI and Wynn.

    Thank you for saying so!

Ah! Could very well be! I always just assume the worse of MGM, when it comes to taking away slot machines!

    Thanks!

    Thank you for reading it!

I think I like Resorts World, in spite of the host thing. I mean, I lost there this trip. But I was doing well before I went on tilt. I've always done OK on their slots, including some big big wins. Which I honestly cant say hold trues for me at many places in Vegas any more. Add in that they comp me more than any other club in town, when it comes to Corp. offers. I don't think i can walk away, just because I have a bad host.

I tried to get out of her. But so far, no luck. Its tolerable I guess. I'll just try to not interact with her too much. And avoid her snark.

Kevin thanks for the detailed trip report! Sorry you ended up with a loss but sounds like you had a great time with your old school friend.

BTW when you were at RIO did you check out the sports book? I booked them for 1 night in Oct for Saturday college football and hope they have a good book to spend the day watching and betting the games

Thanks for the report Grid! Fun reading as always.

Quick question for you: Does the Lapa Lounge at Rio have bartop VP? It did not look like it from the picture you posted but I could not see the whole bar.

    Thanks.

    Iirc:

Good news: Yes, they do on the other side.

Bad news: They aren't new machines and I've read complaints about sticky buttons.

Another nice report @Grid! Hopefully you'll do better next time!

Weird to have someone post my Christian name on here. But that's what I get for not editing out the players club info that shows when my cards are active LOL.

The sportsbook was untouched as far as I could tell. They had the sports book deli shutdown, and some curtains up to cover the registers and such. I am 99% sure its the exact same as its been for the past 20 years or so. But I didnt go in, just saw as I walked around. No new carpet yet, I know that for sure. At least since I was there a couple weeks back.

Sorry for the slow reply, but Tring nailed it. They are all the old bartops they used to have. Just cleaned up and stuck in the new bar. Would have been a good time to upgrade to new ones. But I also hear money is running out at Rio now. And a bunch of people got laid off.
