Maybe some money will be put into the property now.

Perhaps related to Hyatt not having much of a presence in Vegas vs their chain peers especially with Resorts World being associated with Hilton now when it opens. Rio needs a refresh badly and expect it to be a much nicer property in future. Wonder what will happen to Penn and Teller and WSOP.

No Hilton is partnering with Resorts World (they’ll have Hilton, Conrad and Crockfords). Hopefully I can use points to try it out.

If it’s anything like Marriott it won’t be worth using points to stay. Cosmo is a great property. However, it’s like 90k Marriott points per night for a king room. Think I’ll pass on that ;) . Considering you can book Ritz Carltons for 50 to 60k.

Given Hyatt’s reward pricing on the MGM hotels, I would think this would have to fall into a cat 3 property (12k/nights). That puts it on the same level as the Lux and Excal. That might be a little generous to the Rio given its condition and location, but I don’t see them pricing it at cat 2. Maybe with some extensive renovations they could bump it to cat 4 but that’s a tough sell when you can stay at MGM for the same price.
