Schedule / Calendar for Cosmo Comp Room Offers?

I visited Cosmo a couple of weeks ago, and when I logged into my Identity account today I was pleased to see that I've been extended another 4 night comp and Identity play offer, valid from late September through mid-January 2019. I haven't received an email notification or one of those always welcome snail mail purple envelopes yet, although I'd imagine that they're on the way. Similarly, a week or two after my Cosmo trip this past spring, I had already received another comp room offer. Out of curiosity, does Cosmo have a fixed schedule / calendar for extending comp room offers to eligible Identity members, or does the offer timeline vary for each player, following up on their particular visit and play activity? Based on my experience, the latter certainly seems to be the case, but I'm just curious how this works.

I was actually hoping to plan a trip for early February, however my current offer is valid only through mid-January. However, if past offers are any indication, I'm hoping that in a month or two the time period for my offer might slide forward a bit and I'll be able to book the dates I have in mind.

Kevin helped me with a similar thing. My offer was through January, but I had time off at the end of February where I was planning a trip. He extended my offer so I was able to book it for February. So far I've never had an issue getting a room when I wanted, just booked my 3rd stay for the end of next month (plus 2 companion nights for friends) without issue.

It is interesting that offer time periods differ. My current offer that I just received after staying at the Cosmo for Labour Day is just until the end of November. Not a big deal as I am not planning on heading out to Vegas again until Superbowl but interesting that the time period differs between members. I am currently Gold until I think the end of 2019, although it may be Sept. I just earned another year at Gold on my last trip.

The offers seem to be about every 3 months. It also starts and ends on a specific date, not per quarter like some other programs do. Not sure if they get that date from your last visit, certain time after last visit, etc. They also tend to release the new offer about a month before the current one expires. As others have noted, you can usually call and see if they will extend the offer if you are trying to reserve for farther out.

It is interesting that the offer window varies. It's definitely true.

All I can say about the patterns for my own account I've picked up on:

    • I always end a stay on a Saturday
    • I usually get an email from my host the following week, stating a new offer
    • On Tuesday of the 2nd week after, I get a marketing email with the same offer
    • Even though my stays usually end right around the same date every time, the length of the offer window itself has varied a lot
    • If I don't book an offer, I'll usually get the same offer via email every 8 weeks
    • Once I book an offer, those emails stop
    • I do usually end up getting a snail mail piece, but usually not until sometime in the middle of the period
    • At some point prior to the original offer window expiration, I get an email with a new offer that picks up when the original expires

    As an example:
    • I had a stay that ended July 14
    • My host emailed me on July 22 with an offer
    • I got the email with the same offer on July 24. It runs through December 12.
    • I haven't gotten the snail mail piece yet
    • In August, I booked comp nights through my host for January, but they are not covered by the offer. I didn't ask her to extend the expiration, because I've sometimes gotten more freeplay in winter offers in the past
    • Once I get an offer that covers January, I'll contact her and she'll add it to my reservation
    • I think I'm due for a new email tomorrow, I think it will probably have the same December expiration date, but we'll see.

I'm not going to divulge too much information, but our offers are all tailored to the individual based on their own patterns. It's not a perfect science, but it's more advanced that just sending out a seasonal offer once per quarter like much of the strip.

Let me be the first to say, your model is great and keep doing what you're doing. I wish other casinos put more thoughts into their offers.

Let me say...more freeplay is always great.:)

My offers seem to be lacking but I am just a VP player. However, I have a host that rocks and will show just because of her. :)

Thanks for the info, Kevin. I must say that it's nice that Cosmo tailors offers and offer timing to individual players instead of keeping all players on the same seasonal offer schedule. After my last few trips, I've received a new comp room and freeplay offer just a week or two after the conclusion of my visit. My most recent trip was at the beginning of September, and less than a week after the conclusion of my trip I already had a new comp room and freeplay offer available online, and the email and purple envelope mail offer followed up the following week. Let's just say that this is a welcome (and wise on Cosmo's part) marketing strategy...I'm already starting to look at my calendar and thinking about planning my next trip!

On a side note, this is more of a general comp room question, but is a player's activity and whether or not they played enough to justify their upfront comp room offer (and future upfront offers) at all related to the rack rate for rooms during their visit? For example, I've booked 4 night comp stays at Cosmo during off-peak times where the rack rate is relatively low at around $200 / night. On the other hand, the rack rates during my most recent 4 night comp visit were rather high ($500 - $600 for one or two of the nights). That said, in terms of eligibility for future comp offers, does a player need to play more to "fulfill" the value of their upfront comp and qualify for future comp offers during a visit in which the rack rates are higher than average? Or, do comp nights more less have the same "value", regardless of the rack rates during a visit? From my experience, I would tend to say that the latter is the case. During my most recent visit, my amount of play was pretty much on par with what I've played in previous trips, yet regardless of the higher rack rates during that particular visit, a follow-up comp offer came my way shortly after my trip. Nonetheless, I'd be interested to hear others' thoughts regarding this topic.

It would be interesting to find out if there's any implications to booking 3 weekend nights at $500 per night vs 3 weekday nights at $200 per night... However my thought is if the system let's you book it then book it... I think everyone knows the room rates at Cosmo are some of the highest on the strip, so the casino surely has to just factor that into the offers.

Somewhat weird. My Cosmo offers have come regularly over the past few years, sometimes overlapping but always covering each and every day of the year. Booked on the last offer I received and have had nothing else since. besides comp ticket offers. Guess I better make a good showing on this trip!

Yes, it is the best offer I have ever received from Cosmo but we also gave them our best coin-in last trip.

Just a guess but I'd say no.

What it would affect is the option for back end comps. As the room rates would be higher then meaning more play to play off the comp.

I have come in on a comp during a busy October weekend and a dead ass Jan weekend, also for a weekend just as CES ended. I have only seen my offers move based upon my typical play.

Yeah I'm overdue for the 8-week offer "reminder" email. It should have come last Tuesday. I didn't get anything yesterday either. I'm not really concerned, but it looks like something changed with the scheduling.

Been back a week and still haven't received any type of offer since we booked the last one (July). Just looked to see if maybe something would come up if I checked some dates and now I am back to paying for a room. :((Don't want to bother Kristy since I don't really have a trip to schedule but I'm sure not thinking about trying to fit another in if there's no incentive.)

    Identity Platinum,
I usually get my new one the second tuesday after I get home.
Normally, I go once in spring and once in fall so the offers stopping after booking has never been an issue before but this time with 2 trips in 3 weeks, I was lucky I think that I had the second offer. Wondering if it's smarter to book closer to the date instead?

Not sure but I looked back and I never have had a gap between offers in the past three years.

Not planning a trip but just had to check Southwest. The days of $99 from BWI are gone but $129 isn't too bad... Save me from myself lol.

    Identity Platinum,
I wish I could but I'm trying to find an excuse to go back hahaha. My flight for this last trip was $600. If I could do 129 I would totally sneak out. Hubby bought a new car without telling me so I told him I get to book Vegas without telling him hahaha. Vegas isn't exactly a Range Rover :/ (I made him pay a $2000 USD fine though, I can't believe that worked hahahahahaha)

Going in about 10 days, and already have a trip tentatively planned for March. Hopefully I can gain some good offers for then too.
