After celebrating my 23rd at my third annual Las Vegas destination birthday in January, I felt I had unfinished business.

It was a great trip. I met up with a college buddy who has more money than sense.

He brought me to the gun range where I shot an AK-47, SAW, and Desert Eagle at exploding terrorist torsos.

He dropped $3,500 on bottle service to bring me to XS for the Chainsmokers.

The gambling was even good. I came home with $50 more in the wallet, and a fancy new Boyd Sapphire card that I'd earned in a 7 hour degenerate session at Boar's Head where I lost (and won back) my entire day's bankroll as I had beer for breakfast and lunch before getting my first meal of the day (at 7pm) comped at 777.

It was a great trip! So what is that unfinished business I was talking about?

My feeble attempt at a live TR! As those of you who were following along know, I lost my phone (as well as my recollection of 11pm-3pm) at XS. For as much as I live vicariously through the TRs on this board, I feel as if I owe it to my fellow degens to actually complete a damn report.

With a welcome offer from BConnected for 3 free rooms (without the dreaded weekend restriction! I guess that's worth $25k coin in), a new job, and my mom's birthday coming up on Tax Day, I figured flying out to celebrate her birthday on her behalf was in order.

I booked the flight on Spirit for $175 so I could get $50 back in matchplay from the D. I booked Friday, Saturday, and Sunday at Main Street for free. I love that they don't have resort fees, so it's actually free!

The biggest change this trip is in the bankroll department. Even though I'm still a micro-roller, I've got a big boy job and more money in my bank than I ever have before. So I decided to raise my stakes... an entire figure. That's right, folks: this ballsy/stupid (you decide which) post grad is bringing a whopping $1,000 to Vegas! One grand. Less than a bacc bet for a lot of you, but a ton of ammo for a low roller like me. Hopefully I should be able to weather the variance and finally hit something BIG.

I had planned a solo trip, however after booking, I was pleasantly surprised to find that not one, but two people are overlapping with my trip!

I was reliving the glory days at college and spending the night with a regular hookup (we'll call her J to protect the (not so) innocent) and she mentioned that she was going to celebrate her 21st in Vegas. In April. The weekend of the 14th. So without knowing the other was going, we booked the same weekend! She's at Polo Towers with her mom.

Out of the blue two weeks later, my cousin texted me. "Hey, I heard you were going to Vegas in April... when?" I told her and asked when she was in town, and of course it was the same weekend! Turns out my cousin (we'll call her L) is also a big gambler and goes to Vegas a ton. She's comped at MGM with her on-again, off-again boyfriend.

I've spent the past two weeks getting psyched and sneaking texts to J and L at work about all things Las Vegas.

I try not to make many plans in Vegas and let my whims guide me, but this stuff is hopefully going to happen:

1. VP at the Chandelier Bar (I've never had their specialty drinks before, and with J and L on the strip, I finally have an excuse to leave MSS)

2. Pool time at MGM with L. I've never enjoyed the pools in Vegas cause I've always went in winter, so I'm excited to see what it's all about. Hopefully my pale white skin can handle it.

3. Teach J how to play craps. She texted me that she wants to learn, which is pretty impressive.

4. Give Boar's Head some good play to keep the offers coming. Hoping to find my first Royal, but at the very least some Maker's on the rocks with some house brews.

5. Sigma Derby at the D AND MGM. It's been too long since I bet the ponies, and with my cousin at MGM there's no reason not to. Also looking forward to seeing if the millennial lounge appeals to its target demographic.

6. Container Park with L. Despite staying downtown almost exclusively, I've never been, and neither has L.

7. Slot golf. I saw it on the FHBM Facebook page, and am excited to try it downtown with L. You out $10 into a machine in a group and each spin until you hit a pay. The person with the lowest score picks the next machine. Rinse and repeat, and at the end the person with the lowest score wins the TITO.

8. Try to do all of the above without getting too drunk to hookup with J. I want to be up in the casino and the bedroom, if you catch my drift.

Got off work an hour early, and I'm on the light rail to DIA right now.

 

Definitely larger than go" x fuck" x yourself" or whatever dimensions Spirit oh so generously allows for personal items. Let the gambling begin.

At this rate, I've set the bar low with the phone.

If I manage to keep my phone in my pocket and/or hand at al times, I'll automatically be up $850 versus last trip!

I'll be doing green chip for at least 2 hands with my Spirit match play. Whether or not I stay green depends on my luck, and more realistically, my intoxication level.

I am going to try to press a bit more when I'm winning though. I tend to get scared and flat bet $5, but I may swing for the fences a few times.

Can't wait to win enough to buy a yacht!
