Along the lines of MsFury fashion tips. I thought it would be kind of nice to post some helpful hints etc. First I am always looking for a deal. I like to shop through Southwest Rapid Rewards for the points when I can. I am always perusing their deals. Today I see that they have Dooney Burke 4 points for every dollar plus 10% off in the NFL shop. My DIL to be has a birthday coming up. She likes designer things - don't we all. But, she is a teacher so she doesn't have a big budget. So I just decided to see if there was something not to expensive I could get her. I found a cute little Dallas Cowboy purse. They had several. And, she is a Rabid Cowboy Fan. So I found the purse below - Regular $108 plus 10 % off which knocked it down to $97 and then they automatically threw in another 20% off for labor day. Which brought it down to less than $80 -- with shipping it was $84 -- Plus I get about about 300 points added to Southwest Rapid Rewards.

I also signed up for Ipsy - got that idea from a friend. It is a sample makeup box for $10 a month. You get about 5 different things. I have done it for 3 months now and have not been disappointed. I always get a blush in a color I like, Eye Shadow, Mascara and a Lipstick. I have to look to see what brand I got 2 months ago. The best mascara for me ever. I have not been able to use it in years. -- Always flakes off and ends up on my face. I have tried high end mascaras, Lancomme, Estee Lauder - and the cheaper ones over the counter. I even bought a two step method to "seal it in" --

In addition to Ipsy there is also on called BirchBox for $10 - also available through Southwest. I am happy with Ipsy but BirchBox looks pretty good to.

Hahahahaha....do you have ANY idea the can of worms you have opened here?!? I LOVE IT!!!!!

Awesome find on the D&B bag, that is a very well thought out gift for a fan, I bet she's going to love it!!

I really like the subscription boxes too! For a long while I was getting the ones from glossy box (approx $20/mo- all full size products), HIGHLY recommend and even if you don't do a monthly subscription they also put out limited edition ones that always sell out (over $200 worth for $40). Last year my husband gifted me the FAB FIT FUN one, it is good, but it's pretty expensive ($50?) compared to most other programs. I think it's worth it, includes a variety of products beyond make-up (including jewellery, travel cases, wraps etc) but not everyone will want to put out that much for random products they don't know what they are getting! The one funny thing I found with getting subscription boxes is that it totally kept me out of the stores....I had so much stuff stockpiling in my drawers I couldn't possibly justify buying more- haha! Most of mine have stopped now so suddenly becoming a Sephora regular again.

Mascara can be a really tough one- glad you found one that works for you! I had noticed in Sephora that they had a bunch of top rated mascara's on display- the best seller named "Better than sex". Was debating giving it a try and then saw @Sam_Marques Vlog and she recommended it too. Gave it a try and love it!

As for a Holy Grail find....just because it works, not because of savings........I've got a recent one that honestly, still totally baffles me!! I noticed the start of fine lines in the neck/décolletage area, apparently side sleepers can be prone to this. After a google search, found these clear medical grade silicone pads that promised to remove any wrinkles. Just put it on the area while sleeping and remove in the morning- the before and after pics were crazy how well they worked. No creams or anything....just stick a silicone pad on. Apparently can also help improve scarred skin, stretch marks etc. I tried them and they TOTALLY work! Bizarre!! There's several different brands offering them, but they generally are about $30-40 each and last about a month. That could get expensive but I read someone said that once the stickiness is gone just get an adhesive spray (one used for first aid) and it completely extends the life of them several months.

My next beauty hunt when I have some time is finding a neutral eyeshadow palette that is predominantly matte colours. I have all the Urban Decay Naked palettes but looking for something different- and those tend to have a lot of shimmer. Any suggestions welcome.

Make sure you sign up for the Sephora email so you get the Birthday gift during your B-day month and always ask when your paying at the checkout if they have some samples to toss in your bag....they gice some really good freebies just have to ask. What brand are the silicone pads you got? Thanks

Sephora is awesome with the free samples!! I've ordered two different brands and the outer packaging was different, but inside it was the exact same silicone pad, haha! I ordered twice because the first one I didn't read the care instructions so didn't last as long. I ordered a new one through dermaclara (there is a Canadian site) and I found some 20% off coupon code just by google search. I suggest only ordering the pad itself and not all the creams they make packages with- whatever your normal routine is works just fine. There are different sizes and shapes depending on where you want to stick them, but I will say they totally work!

@VegasChic I don't wear eyeshadow but my daughter's always buy me make up for gifts. I have this beautiful neutral palette I think you'd love by Bobby Brown. Next time our trips line up I'll bring them for you so that way you can try them with no risk as they are wasted here. I hate lipstick and don't wear it either, BUT if I feel like I need to dress up, I have only one lipstick I can stand on and absolutely love the color. It's MAC and the glaze lipstick is a nude color called Hue and I top it with a Mac gloss color called Nymphette. Lol It is the absolute perfect nude color combo. I think I have tried every cream, lotion, mask etc., and in my honest opinion have never found anything that makes me look younger except ONE item. I found this clear gel exfoliator by Seacret. It's a small clear round container with a blue lid. You just scoop some on your fingers and rub it on your face. It doesn't have ANY granules or anything so no idea how it works as it's so soft. As you rub it in it turns into what looks like eraser mess ( you know when you erase a bunch on a piece of paper and you have to brush the paper off?) and that's dead skin coming off. It makes you look a few years younger and your face feels amazing after. It doesn't last more than a few days but it's a noticeable difference after one use! The ONLY product I've ever recommended as far as anti aging. It does make a mess when you use it, but it's the only beauty product I've purchased more than once. If anyone is interested I'll post a photo of it.

Post a photo Hoofy. I use an alphahydroxy lotion followed by good old Oil of Olay moisturizer. I sear by these 2. I can't find a Holy Grail foundation. I've tried everything. I like Chntacaille Future skin but it is so expensive and Icannonly get it at Nordstrom' s. They sell it on Amazon but it cost the same. Almost $80. I use an all day wear from Revlon. I have oily skin. You'd think being in my 50s I would begging to dry out. One benefit not a lot of wrinkles yet.

A suggestion for those wanting good deals if you are brave enough. My sister goes to her local Pawn Shops for purses and James Avery Charms. She gets Dooneys in mint condition for less than $40.

She also goes to the Goodwill store and finds designer clothes with tags on for very cheap. I have been in our Goodwill store once. Found nothing.

This is what it looks like @Valgal! Glad I opened it as mine is pretty much gone and I need to order more. I think it's seacretspa.com you order from or I'm sure Amazon has it. I promise you won't be disappointed. Only product I've ever bought again. Your skin glows after you rub it in all over and all that mess flakes off. Rinse your face and you will be shocked how new your skin looks.

I have around 11 of these gallon ziploc bags full of Sephora samples that I've received so far this year. I also love the Sephora favorites kits. That's why I am not loyal to any one product. The girls at the Sephora stores that I frequent know me well, so it's not unusual for me to leave with 3+ deluxe samples whenever I am there.

@Hoofy7 - that is so generous!! Thanks a bunch- I have heard the shadows from Bobbi Brown are good, but haven't tried them- would love to try them out!! I bet that seacrest stuff is good- i use a similar type product that does a top layer exfoliation and was a loyalist after the first time I used it. Love any product you can tell a difference after one use!

@Valgal - have you tried one of the powder based foundations if you have oily skin? MAC has one called Studio Fix Powder plus foundation. It is like a powder, but with the coverage of a foundation. I know it has a huge fan base (mac site has 580 reviews and overall rating is 5 stars) so may want to try that. This is almost embarrassing to admit, but for years, our of mostly laziness, I've been using Covergirl Simply Ageless foundation. It's kind of a creamy compact that includes a sponge- goes on like powder, but the texture is not powder. I hate pouring liquids cause it gets so messy and wastes a bunch of product. If you want a cheap option I'd suggest giving it a try. It's in the ageless line because it's formulated not to collect in wrinkles- haha, I was using it waaayyyy before I ever had wrinkles though.

@Valgal- I've also got friends who have scored really well at thrift shops, but I think you need to spend a bunch of time picking and being at the right place at the right time! One alternative is going online- there are a bunch of designer consignment sites that guarantee authenticity and will tell the true condition of the items with close up pics of any wear etc. It's actually a decent way to get a lower price than full retail new.

Will have to give the covergirl a try. I have tried powder foundations before. Lancome, Bareminerals. - look good at first but within a couple of hours fades away to nothing.

I also use a finishing sealer spray. I found one called LA Girl Pro setting. It helps a lot. It got high marks on Amazon and inexpensive. It keeps my makeup set for a good 6 hours. -- I do 12 hour shifts and there is really nothing that works for 12 hours.

For perfume and colognes I would recommend anything from Escada. Such light and unassuming but very nice fragrances. You don't have to worry about using too much.

    Identity Platinum,
Not a deal at all, but for my wedding, the makeup artist used airbrush foundation on me and I looked a good 10 years younger, so I bought one the other day have you tried that? Supposedly it makes the fine lines show less (and it did on me when a professional did it) I have tried it once now and it looked pretty decent for my first shot. Supposedly it is better for your skin too because you use so little. It is only 5 drops of foundation to do your face.

I don't wear foundation, but bought a bunch to try for when I go on vacation. Still haven't opened it! Lol I never think it looks natural enough. I sure need it too as my skin has been awful lately. I think it's stress! Perfume you all are gonna laugh. For over 10 years I have worn one line of perfume and I love it. Always get compliments from people of all ages but especially other women. It's Britney Spears Fantasy. It smells so light and fruity. I buy the Midnight Fantasy for evening and the regular Fantasy for day time. They aren't expensive and a bottle last me over a year.
