Anyone playing the million dollar bingo July 27 & 28? $495 ticket, does this include everything?

I’m currently on the waiting list....but the representative says I have a good shot of being called for an opening....trying to see if it’s worth it

I've done the $500,000 one twice. I haven't done the million yet. The ladies I was sitting with at the last one did it. Basically it's about double the people and they have late birds as well as early. I believe the first one was last year. They said it was a bit of a gong show. They had troubles with the machines and it went late and the lines were pretty long. The 2 that I have been to were mostly smooth and south point seems to really care about their bingo events, so those issues should be smoothed over I would think. From what they said about last year's though, I wouldn't buy show tickets or anything for after, just in case it goes long.

Include everything how? You have 9 paper cards included in your entry fee. You can buy extra at the door. The flyer says 2 packs to get a machine, so minimum $50/day if you don't want to daub. It says you get food coupons, which has been buffet.. I think credit at other places there too. (I may have that confused with power bingo with Boyd though, I'm getting old, my brain muddles) I haven't used them. We did have boxed lunch which was pretty decent.. but I don't see that specifically on there. I think the room deal is pretty good too. Pay for one night and get the next 2 free is decent. If I didn't have free rooms at Cosmo, I would do it again.

If you miss out, put it in your calendar to try for the next $500,000 one. I've heard they are better but not doing the million dollar one, I can't say myself, but double the people is booooo hahahaha. The prizes for the other are pretty good too ($10,000 regular and $50,000 coverall if it doesn't change)

I was number 27 on the waiting list for the last one and I got in. And that bingo is where they started selling for million dollar bingo. A lot seem to buy in and then decide later if they can make it, so you may be okay getting in. Refund cut off being July 1st may mean you have to wait a bit.. I wouldn't be cancelling my ticket until I knew for sure I couldn't go. I'm such a bingo dork.

Does that help? I have a trip report in here from the bingo event last month if you haven't found it yet :)

Thanks a lot fraygul this is VERY helpful!

I read your last trip report!
So electronically 2 pack minimum, 20 pack maximum ....so did you have any idea how many most people buy on average? I was thinking 20 packs a day x $25 is an extra $500 a day - that makes it $1500 for the whole event! I think that’s way more than I wanted to spend....but I don’t want to just spend $50 to get a machine and find out everyone else has put $500 into their machines and I don’t have a chance.

What do you mean 9 paper cards to dab?? If I don’t want to dab at all can I put these in a machine??

Also, do you know if they have a limited number of machines and you have to line up early or are you guaranteed a machine?

I’m number 70 on the wait list so not even sure if I’ll get a call....

70 seems pretty good actually. They sold a lot of tickets at the event and with being able to cancel, even I was debating it, even though I knew i didn't want to go haha. You will probably get in.

The entry fee includes the 9 cards if you aren't buying any extra. I saw very few people who were not using a machine. When you buy your extra packs it all goes on the machine. (if you want, I'm sure you COULD play the 9 on paper, but that blows.) It's too complicated to daub and there's trying to pee between games or sneaking out for a smoke, and eating and drinking and chatting.

There are the electronic specials on the bottom of the flyer, to be honest, I am getting better at not trying to max out the machine anymore lol. Play what you're comfortable. I know it's easier to say it than believe it, but you only need one card to win lol. I get there though and i'm like 'max it!' haha. I think between $200-$300 is a good spot and seemed about average. Did you read my old trip report from Power Bingo at gold coast? One person won the $100,000 coverall alone on paper!! And the people sitting with me were at the same amount of numbers away the whole time and they spent way less than I did. I learned from that one and bhaved this last time. I ha maxed my cards for nothing.

Also, the thing I didn't realize the first time, is that the coverall is a regular game at the end, it isn't like a bonanza that needs it's own cards.. so if you are itching to buy extra for that game.. it kinda makes more sense to spend that money on extra cards instead. The first time I played one of these, I bought a couple hundred in cards and spent an extra hundred just on the coverall.. silly. I could have put that $100 towards the cards for all the games. Is that confusing?

It's not like at home, they have enough machines for everyone. You don't have to go early to get one (or grab a number and stand in line hahaha. I don't miss that). At the South Point game, they even have them out on the table for you. They put them out a little later the second day because they tend to die, but they were still brought around for us.

The one thing is to watch the lines though. Supposedly at the last million dollar bingo, the line to buy your cards was massive. They didn't double that from the $500,000 even though it's double the people. I'm sure that's one thing they will fix. If they open another set, it should be fine. The two I went to, the lines were great, so it seems to matter to them. If you are staying at South Point, I'd sneak down when the doors open and check how bad it is and see if you need to wait around.. then piddle off for breakfast and stuff.

The other issue I heard about was that it seemed there were too many machines for their system and it went down, so the game went really late. I can't see them doing another one if they couldn't fix that. If they can't call bingo.. there is no game. So that is a must.

Edited to add.. I just checked the seating chart, it shows 2 selling windows. You should be good. You should actually download the flyer and the seating chart in case they take it down. The took it down before the last one and I had to dig through twitter so I could get the start times etc. Kind of annoying.
