Heres my scenario: staying 33 hours in Vegas at the Mirage. I’m burning my Mille offers and not too concerned about keeping them. I stepped up my play at Cosmo last March and my free play only offers went up but I’m not quite getting free rooms but I think I’m close by moving most of my mlife play there. Caesars is where I stay and play mostly. Ballys, PH and flamingo. I’m 1000 points from retaining my level with CET but I have a 1 night AC trip planned staying at Caesars AC.

I’m bringing $2k with me but some is for sports betting and I’m not earning any tier points from that. So with those goals in mind: not caring about maintaining Mlife offers but not wanting to completely stiff them, wanting to continue to try to up my play at Cosmo and keeping CET as my home base happy, how much of the 33 hours and the bankroll would you spend at each of the 3 places? I play slots, VP and tables so all are options at each place. Play at all? Stay away from one completely?

$2k trip roll, three properties - hm. I'd say to break it down 10% MGM, 60% Cosmo, 30% CET. Obviously these percentages are incredibly inexact, but reasonably summarize my thoughts which are:

I'm interpreting your goal as replacing MGM with Cosmo but not completely slamming the door on MGM. Since you are staying at the Mirage you're going to spend some money there, which will earn you a few tier points. I'd run $200 or so through the slots or VP, but I wouldn't do more than that. Between the tier points you earn spending money on stuff (room, restaurants, etc) plus a little slot play, that should be enough to keep you "alive" to the computers for teaser offers.

I'd concentrate my time and bankroll on slot/VP play at the Cosmo. Although I can't say from personal experience, several others on this board have said table game ratings are an iffy proposition there. It's not clear how table play gets translated into comp credit, and with limited bankroll/playing time you might as well be sure you're getting maximum comp value. I'd recommend talking to host at the Cosmo while you are there. Tell them you want to move over from Mlife, and ask how close you are to getting room comps. They'll tell you, and maybe even offer you one on the spot! Either way you have the information you need.

What about CET? Well, you have to walk right through Caesar's Palace to get from the Mirage to the Cosmo, so you might as well show them some money. CET is pretty good about rating table game action so that's where I'd get my table games fix. Since you have that Atlantic City trip coming up, you don't need to spend a lot of money at CET on this trip. That said, you might as well make a dent in that 1000 points in case the AC trip falls through, or (hopefully this won't happen) you go on a downswing while you are there.

Good luck! And post a trip report!

If worried about future rooms don’t split your cet play over 2 gaming days. Consolidate to 1. It will help future offers.

Cosmo rooms are nice but require more play than alternatives. I am not sure if increasing play here is the right goal based on your bankroll.

You don't earn any first credits for table play at Cosmo. They still use it to figure out your theo so you can still earn rooms etc if you had enough play, but table games won't advance your tier at all.

Thanks for the help so far everyone. The only place I’m playing both days is the mirage. Cosmo and Caesars will be 1 day only. And I think the tables at CET and slots at Cosmo is spot on. I know it’s not a large bankroll but what coin in/how many points per day is Cosmo looking at a day to get free room offers? Since I’m only there one day it should be easy to track.

With CET late in the year their "bonus" tier credit stuff usually doesn't take effect. I'd be tempted to not play CET at all and wait until February when they typically double TCs to get the status with half the play (assuming that's an option, of course).

I'm guessing(based on your avatar info)that you're 1000 tc's from TR Platinum. Outside of free parking in Vegas, there's really not any value in Platinum. But if you want to get there an easy and cheap way, you could book the cheapest Vegas CET room under their "Extend Your Summer" promo, which gives you 25% off online rates and 750 Tier Credits:

"Why not Extend Your Summer! Book your Las Vegas stay now till October 29, 2018, and receive 750 tier credits per night with great rates, just for staying with us. **Offer must be booked online, using promo code EYS18TR to receive credits. Valid on any rate greater than $20 per night. Not valid with any other offer or complimentary room nights. Tier Credits acquired from booking this promotion will appear in your Total Rewards account about 45 days after the stay. Blackout dates may apply. Must be 21 years or older to book. Offer subject to change at any time."

You can search "flexible dates" for October and put the promo code in your search. That will bring up the rate calendar.

As for your plan...I think you're spreading yourself too thin. Trying to please 3 properties in that short a time probably won't amount to much at any of them.

If you really don't care about burning MGM, burn them. Of course, you can avoid them completely if you book a cheap CET room on the offer above for the tc's. You'd also be paying for a room and not using a comp, so your CET action would have a bit more value to it.

You already have a Cosmo card, and they feel you were only worth some free play. So I think you've got a bit of an uphill battle to play to the room comp, because you're most likely past the "teaser offer" stage.

Do you really need offers and comp'd rooms from all 3 properties? I'm CET Diamond, happy with comp'd rooms and offers at all their properties. I get comp'd room offers from places I've played a bit that I never care to stay at. But I like a little a little variety in my casino adventures. So I break it up and play at some joints just for fun or because they have an old slot I like. I'm not playing for offers everywhere; I don't care if I get them and I don't care if I lose them.

The reason I’m not staying at any CET is because I’ve never had such a short trip, I didn’t know how much time I’d have to gamble everywhere I wanted to. My plan was to gamble slightly at mlife, mostly at Cosmo and maybe not let CET know I’m in town. Maybe it’s better to cut out mlife and stay at PH. Mirage was $40 and all the CET places are free so I was fine paying for a room and then low playing them. Maybe cutting out MGM is the way to go. But if I stayed at a Mlife property, my play at the two places I’m trying to move to would be judged on just 1day instead of two if I stay at a CET property.

To answer your question on Cosmo, I gave them my most play so far back in May. I stopped in for about 4 hours and based on my points I cycled about $3300 through slots. Played a tiny bit of VP but it was mostly slots, and did a lot of quarter and dollar games, with some penny game play too.

My newest offer is a free room anytime Sun-Thurs, and if I stay over a weekend and pay for a room it would give me a $200 dining credit per paid night. No freeplay though. My previous offers with less play (around $2000 coin-in) were free rooms on very select nights and $75 freeplay. I'm trying to plan a day to stay there and give them a full day of play to see what offers I get but haven't yet.

I also agree, I would try to narrow your play to just two places during the stay, otherwise you won't do yourself any favors on future offers, trying to balance 3 is going to be tough.

Bottom line up front - do all of your slot play at Cosmo.

I don't think the CET tier are worth much, except for getting rid of resort fees, so my advice would be to skip CET and move that play to Cosmo to see what you can generate. If you're not staying at a CET property and don't use the TR card at all, you won't be missing anything and maybe you can bankroll yourself at AC to get the tier if that's really important to you.

My guess is you need somewhere in the neighborhood of $500 ADT at Cosmo to get consistent offers. That might be a little high and could be less on weekdays/without a terrace or fountain view. Anyway, that would work out to between $4000-$5000 coin in or 1600-2000 Identity tier credits. If you haven't made Sterling, "points" and tier credits will be the same.

A couple of things consider with Cosmo and comps:
    1) Cosmo really emphasizes slots in all aspects of their reward programs. They have a sophistiacted system and for VP they use the exact theo of the games your playing to calculate offers. While they have some great VP paytables, you've got to put a ton of coin in on those machines to generate comps, and we all know how variance goes...
    2) Doesn't apply to your situation, but they use a per trip theo basis vs a daily theo, so on a multi-day trip, do all of your Cosmo play on consecutive days

That’s a lot of information, thanks irishdave. I am sterling at Cosmo so I’m going to need 4000ish points from slots? That may be doable.

I think the plan is do all my slot play at Cosmo. However, I do like moving around and playing tables. And I have all my favorite spots that are all Cesars properties: Let it ride at PH, craps at Harrahs and Black jack at Cromwell. So I think I’m taking my free room at PH, playing vp and tables at Cesars and all my slots at Cosmo.

Yep, Sterling is a 2x multiplier, so 4000 points = 2000 tier credits

I agree with parts of of what everybody said, but to condense it:
    • Screw MLife, you said you don't care about burning your offers there. Slow play quarter VP to keep yourself occupied if you have to.
    • Platinum doesn't mean shit at CET. Don't mess up your ADT by low-playing them - give them close to a regular day's play or nothing. That said, if you do low-play CET, what will get shaved off first is any throw-ins you get with offers - your room availability may not go down much. That Said #2, if you have future dates in mind, I would book them now, just in case you do damage your ADT.
    • Don't play tables at Cosmo, it's a black box, you can ask a boxman what you got rated at, but there's no way to track it and there's very little data from mid-level table players as to what kinds of offers they get. I'm not saying they don't comp competitively for table play, it's just an unknown quantity, and unless you play a LOT, it won't help advance your tier there.
    • Scratch the VP itch at Mirage on quarters if you don't want to feel guilty
    • Scratch the table itch at a CET joint(s). Some VP there is OK too.
    • Play machines (mostly slots) at Cosmo. Cosmo gives exact theo for the paytable for VP.
ETA (cause I was in a hurry and didn't fully read all the other replies): I think switching to PH (or any CET place) was the right move. No reason to specifically burn MLife unless you had no other options.
