The only update I have is... Mrs. Flusher mailed the IRS to ask if they would re-consider a return that got in late (because the first one never got there).

That was in November. No word.

Can you believe I only had one Royal last year, and it was in Canada?

I just checked in and unfortunately no with an exclamation mark- to add insult to injury the dreaded snail mail letter of need more time arrived for them last week. I suspect they are screwed until later in the calendar yet at this point.

I'm on the same boat as your friend. My refund is over 7k and the newest info I got from them is they need additional time and could take up to 6 montha. Lol, damn it

Ah, that is super shitty. Sorry to hear that. I wonder if the IRS has a dollar threshold that triggers them into being dinks and holding up return?? My friends was close to your amount and mine was a relative paltry $1,200.

Not sure if this will help anyone this year...if you are checking WMR, the bars can update daily UNLESS you are pooled into the group of people who only update Saturday early AM. If you are part of that group then there's no point in checking WMR throughout the week. There are various reasons why people are put into the weekly update batch. I know that I am in that group because I have always filed my taxes using a po box address.

    Refund Status Results

We will need additional time to process your return because you requested a refund of tax withheld on Form 1042-S, Foreign Person's U.S. Source Income Subject to Withholding by filing Form 1040NR, U.S. Nonresident Alien Income Tax Return or Form 1040NR-EZ, U.S. Income Tax Return for Certain Nonresident Aliens With No Dependents.
Please allow up to 6 months from the original due date of the 1040NR or 1040NR-EZ return or the date you actually filed the 1040NR or 1040NR-EZ, whichever is later, to receive any refund due. You do not need to take any action at this time. We will contact you in writing if there are any questions regarding the credits claimed on your Form 1040NR or 1040NR-EZ.

I'm also wondering, as I changed Marriage status to Single, (all amicable)..if that's held it up? Another could be 3 if I remember had my previous address (Bellagio, Mlife, rooms reservations etc; had my updated address at the beginning, but the High Limit area, who have a different computer than the Mlife registry to check in, had my new address, HL had my old address and issued 3 of my 6 handpays at B, in my old address, until I was told at Mlife desk to go change it myself at HL. Dang...

I'm suspecting they are putting larger refund on hold. I got the same message with refund $7xxx

So is @NfB friend who had refund around $6xxx.

I guess all we can do is just wait.

My friend who just started gambling in the US this year are getting $27xxx tax withheld so far and the number can only go up. He's gonna have a hell of time come tax season next year.

Good luck to everyone on those bigger refunds. Tough to wait those out so hope it starts moving through the system.....sucks to see those delay letters!
@jyen, will be interesting to see how your friend manages next year with those numbers- might be the only year they do that if it's too much hassle getting the balance back!

Has anyone sent in multiple tax returns in the same envelope? (Meaning more than one year, like 2016 and 2015 together?) Or should I send them in separate envelopes? This will be my first time completing the returns myself, first time I used RMS, but not wanting to give them my $$ anymore.
I am planning on sending the returns registered mail, this seems to be the best way from what I've read.

Never done it but I would suggest send in separately. Less chance for mistake to happen. Good luck

Does anyone have the address for where I actually send my return? When I looked online it just says "Internal Revenue Service, Austin, TX, USA, 73301-0215",
but I recall reading somewhere that people have sent to a P.O. Box? I don't know if I'm looking in the right place anymore. I've been going over everything to hopefully make sure I haven't made any errors, about a few hundred times (at least that's what it feels like)! It's late, I'm tired of these IRS forms, and I'm brain-dead...help a girl out??
