Ended up -$435 on $8,206.25 coin in at MGM properties with most of it at Luxor chasing the AWAK. Still came home way ahead due to the Royal.

Next trip is Aug 28-30 at Sam’s Town in a Mini Suite King comped for a bonus free play event.

    Wow lots of quads!

Mathematical, is holding the kicker on double double the correct play? I thought that was only a triple double thing. Not saying I haven't done it myself, just wondering what "the math" says.

When the progressive is that high yes. I think tringlomane said it was in the mid-$700’s and higher

Oh ok, that makes sense. I'm rarely playing anything where there's a progressive. That one was super ripe then at over $1,100. Making it higher than a triple double AWAK anyways. So now that I see that holding was definitely the right move.

I do wonder what the threshold is for it being the 'right' play. @tringlomane ?

So many trip aces and no one was home! *ouch*

But looks like you had a decent finish anyway and a great time. Thanks for sharing the good and the not so good!

Those kicker misses are rough! I wonder how high it got before it got hit.

Depends on what the value of 4 Aces is too. If it's a flat two hundred, it's $575 or higher.

Roughly speaking for a progressive DDB game, if the kicker quad is at least 2.875 times higher than the non-kicker value, then you should hold the kicker.

So for example, if Aces happened to be $228, then you would hold the kicker when AWAK was $665.50 or higher.

Sorry I just read your report you did stay there with stop the new room? The reason I ask is I have a pretty lucrative offer for Luxor $600 FreePlay $600 food and beverage but I don't play Luxor and I'm not keen on the room I stayed there maybe 15 years ago but what I've been reading on this site is that they renovated the rooms?

The tower 1bdr suites are a very good value. Nice rooms, lots of space, just a hike to the casino. The tower studios are decent as well

The casino isn’t fancy, but has plenty to play. Easy to walk thru the shops and play at MBay.

Tender Steakhouse is very good if it’s open. Their Mexican restaurant and coffee shop are pretty good as well. Again, a casual experience. $600 to spend in food and beverage will pay for a lot at Luxor! We use our food comps at any MLife property and it comes off the room charges, no problem.

That's what I'm thinking ! I know we do the same thing we use our food and beverage credits at any mlife I'm just trying to think if I like Luxor to play there. I've gone in the past. After my experience and MGM this last month I'm hesitant. The crowd has changed.

It is an easy walk to MB, except there’s this pub on the right with an awesome selection of scotch and Irish whiskies that always draws me in. Makes it easy to burn the resort credit tho as you can put charges from RiRa on the room at Luxor!
