It's big buy in but depending on if they have good odds and something back for those who place at bottom. If I knew $5000 entry would get me at least $1000 free play I'd do it! I just noticed all 20 people get at least that and 1 in 20 is amazing odds to walk away with a huge amount of money! Are you going to do it Diana?

Got the mailer today too! I'm tempted, but it seems all the big tourneys are always on dates when I can't go.

I got this too. I've had such poor luck at slot tournaments I just can't justify $5000 to enter one. But the odds certainly appear to be very good!

I'm officially in. Just talked to my host. Only playing due to the odds. All that's left is giving them my credit card number for the 5k. 25% chance to get 2500 ish or better back. That's fine with me. Anyone want to go partners? Sin? Evo? Plee? Pphold? VC?

I really like the idea of going splits on one of these larger ones Packer! I would do it, but on those dates I'm already away! Will leave future ones open to consideration though!!

Best of luck, looking forward to the pic of you holding the big cheque!!

320 participants. Funk that!! Horrible odds for that buy in
So you pretty much have to get first or second to move on to the grand finale it looks like worse case scenario you lose 4K

Thanks for posting. It is nice to see how the other side lives. Kidding. If I were invited, which I am not, I would pass on this tourney. The reasoning is because the tourney is based on 320 entrants. The fine print says 320 entrants which means they will have a total of 16 of these tournaments. Assuming they get 320 people to pony up $5k each, 2 winners and 2 wildcards will advance to the Grand Finale Tournament at a later date. Only 3 in 20 of each tourney would get their money back (15%). Additional wild card entrants are based upon earning slot points, which skews the tourney against folks like Packer for additional chances at a wild card drawing. I would check to see if table games earn points for additional wildcard entries in this tourney or not.

With 16 different tourneys across several properties, you would then compete in the Grand Finale with 64 other people for 10 paying spots. Another 15%. The $1k guaranteed FP doesn't move my needle. If it were half guaranteed FP of $2500 or even $2k, I think the odds would better. I am not a math guy, but for those odds, I think there are safer bets in the casino. I could be off but if you don't win first or second, you have an 11% or less chance of drawing a wildcard if your tourney. Assuming everyone is given the same chances in the drawing (this is not the case as they will have heavy slotters), all nonwinners (1st or 2nd) would only have about a 1.7% chance of winning their money back unless they do a great job of converting FP. This is a tourney where you have to get really, really lucky unless you like to throw hail marys. On that note, I will get back to my TR about my conversion of FP. I tripled my FP to cash on this last trip with more saved for another one.

I knew this sounded like the mlife invitational I played in back in September. It was against 4-5 props and yeah was really hard to advance. I missed the part where it mentioned the other properties earlier when looking at the pics. Figured it sounded too good to be true. Thanks for taking time to break it all down for everyone.

Yeah these slot tourney weekends get crazy at aria hl room with people with endless bankrolls on there spinnkng $400 or so on video slots it is crazy as hell.

Was it still a great set up for food drinks and gifts in September like the used to do or have they cut back with the PGP? They used to do it really high end a few years back.

It was still great at aria no cost cutting on food or bR and then the final was tons of good food and open bar at the bar by hl room at Mandalay bay. Cant recall the name.

That one was only $500 entry and is usually each september

    Not this time. :)

Not this time Heather. So far the highest buy in tournament I have been in was at Aria for a 1k buy in but it had the perk of everyone in the tournament getting a grand back at the end in free play so I went for it.

I'm tempted but I was going to skip July until recently my Mom got a promise out of me we would go for 5 nights starting July 25th between our 2 birthdays and with all my other trips I can't swing it even as a partner. However I would be interested in something like that in the future, perhaps next year when I haven't been on a losing streak the last couple trips. Good luck, I hope you win first place!
