Ok. Already printed the boarding passes for tomorrow, and checked in via the mLife app. I fizzled out halfway thru trying to do a live trip report last Nov. Will try my best to complete this one, however this is my annual birthday trip and today is my 53rd, so the challenge is in place from the get go! So here goes...

-Wheels up at Burbank airport 9/4 @ 11am. Should be on the McCarran tarmac and trying to escape the plane by 12pm sharp! Just enough time in the air to use a free drink coupon from Southwest. We usually taxi to our hotel. We never get a car, just as cheap and easy for us to taxi/tram or walk everywhere

-Staying at Park MGM 9/4 - 9/7. We double book to max out comps and once in awhile it's helpful to have separate bathrooms... I'm comped a standard room, $100RC/$75FP. Rick's comped a Nighthawk suite, $250RC/$175FP. Will probably spend some time at the pool in the day, but it doesn't look too impressive and praying any construction distractions are neglible by this point. We've also got $190 in combined mLife Express comps and a $50 off Rice & Co voucher + 1 free Aria dinner buffet voucher via MyVegas. Usually head out to Lola's Louisiana Kitchen for at least one meal, and been dying to try the Drunken Noodles at Wazuzu. But with all that free food waiting, Lola's and Wazuzu will most likely have to wait for another trip. Since I'm a big burger lover, wanna try to steer us to Shake Shack and/or Bobby's Burger Palace as well since they're in our general vicinity (never tried either). And a White Castle pass by so Rick can revisit his East Coast roots

-Bankroll is $1000/day for me. Rick doesn't really budget like I do, he's probably in the $1500/day range. We basically love jumping between our favorite MGM properties (Mandalay/Luxor/NYNY/Bellagio) with traitorous excursions to Cosmo and Wynn/Encore. Play is largely focused on slots, betting all over the place. In the $10-$12 range for Wonder 4's, all over the place for Fu Dao Le/Dancing Drums type games, but there's plenty of sub $5 games I enjoy as well. Think I'm gonna be brave and try a few $20/spins on Cleo 2 or Davinci Diamonds until I hit something worth saving or run out of nerve. Or money. Or both. Would be nice to break my 20 year + handpay drought. Will track down the new James Bond slots (apparently at Cosmo). Hoping the X Files would have hit LV by this trip, but haven't seen anything indicating that to be the case. Will probably set aside $300 x 2 for a couple of blackjack sessions trying to revive the days of yore as well. Got a $25 Luxor matchplay and free shot @ the Double Barrel via My Vegas. If drink service still exists will enjoy a few bloody marys, white russians, Crown & 7's and the occasional Miller Lite to give my liver a rest. The health benefits of which will be negated by a few Romeo & Juliet cigars. Also bought an Acid to try for the first time

-We typically go see a show each trip, but nothing seemed too appealling this time. But I'm going solo to Queen + Adam Lambert for the 3rd time on Wed nite. I'm a huge Queen fan ever since I heard Killer Queen on the radio in 1974. Taking a chance the following morning and getting a massage at the newly opened Park MGM spa. They should have opened this weekend and hoping any kinks have been worked out by then. When I called it in, the concierge couldn't find the hot stone add on to the massage, though I was reading it off the website...Ricks gonna get a manicure as well. Looking forward to the NFL season starting on Thu nite. Gonna try and scope out some nice seats at a sportsbook (preferably Mandalay or Wynn). If that doesn't pan out will most likely just watch in Ricks suite. Huge Saints fan, so will be a bandwagon Eagles fan for the nite hoping for a rough start to the Falcant's season on Thu nite

-I'm gonna try and video as much as possible. If I end up with enough content I'll post a video trip report as well. I love watching slot videos on Youtube, but I think it would be more interesting if people included more trip details as well (their room, the view, live commentary on meals, sights & sounds). I know a few other VFer's will be around. Would love to meet in person, but we're very spur of the moment when in town. I'll try and sign on periodically and see if I can get a handle on who might be around. So with all that, here's the obligatory bankroll shot to kick this baby off !!! GEAUX SAINTS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Happy birthday and good luck!

If you're going to be at Park MGM, I highly recommend Bavette's. I'm iffy on the property these days, but the fried chicken at Bavette's is revelatory. It's like the best chicken fingers you've ever had, combined with mashed potatoes and a gorgeous space (I'm told the steaks are excellent as well, though I don't eat beef personally). The crab cake appetizer is great as well. Overall, it's made it to my very short list of places that I'd call "expensive, but not overpriced".

You're timing is great, as I have been craving crab cakes lately, thanks for the tip.

Then 100% go for it. The crab cakes at Bavette's are some of my favorites that I've ever had. Big chunks of crab, perfectly fried, and gigantic. Only minor tip is that it comes with tartar sauce and I personally like having at least one or two bites with cocktail sauce, so you might want to ask for that.

    Most all!
    Happy Belated Birthday!

Looking forward to hearing about your Park experiences. I stayed there Memorial Day w/e and was pleasantly surprised. I had very good experiences, in general.
    LOVED the Staywell rooms/floor.

The Primrose restaurant is very good. I didn't even know it existed until the second day. Atmosphere, food, and staff was excellent. I did carry out one day since the Starbucks line was humungus.

MGM does a very poor job of communicating offerings in Park. I assume they're waiting for all their new restaurants to officially open, along with the Eataly. Even though a work in progress, even having a disposable typed sheet of what's available for food would be nice. It was a pain waiting on hold for the concierge to ask questions about restaurants and their spa. I hope you two have a good spa experience.

Bavette's restaurant was terrific....I anticipate returning many times. Their Chicago restaurant is my favorite and this one did not disappoint. They have done a good job of replicating the decor/atmosphere.

Like you , I have seen Lambert w/Queen and really enjoyed it. I would like to see them again in the Park theatre; great venue!

I hope to see lots of winning pics...good luck to you and Rick!
