Family trip this time. But that did not slow down the gambling debauchery, well, did not slow it down much.

We spent 2 nights at Treasure Island and 2 nights at Cosmopolitan.

I hit for $400 or more 8 times this trip, not too shabby. no handpays to report, but I was swinging for the fences.

We saw a lot (Adventuredome, 2 pools, Shark Reef, Bellagio Conservatory, M&M World, Coke Store) and hated the travesty that is Eataly at Park MGM

Any questions or comments, I'd love to hear them!

Looked like a good trip. Anytime I get to the last day and I'm up or even, I consider that a success. I play about everything, but the majority of my play is on slots. Considering you didn't hit a handpay and your biggest win was ~600 I'd say you did pretty damn good.

Those $600 hits do add up! The way I view Vegas, if I go there with $4,000 in my pocket, I'm prepared to lose it. If I come home with $500 of that, I didn't lose $3,500 I won $500 LOL

    Thanks TR!

It is happening so fast Daze. Right now we are at the "Daddy, come sit and talk to me while I'm on the potty. I'm lonely" Soon, it will be "Dad, my friends are coming over. Can you leave for a few hours?"

I'm a fan of Eataly overall, since they have pretty decent charcuterie, but I'm completely with you on the bizarre decision to have it front the casino floor. I personally benefit from it being there, but for most people it's useless. What's even more annoying to me, though, is how long and deserted that walkway is from Aria to ParkMGM. Even more so than Cosmo, I feel like the place is 90% hallways.

As far as Cosmo, for what it's worth, Milk Bar is often pretty busy, just not at the same hours Eggslut is. And they're basically part and parcel of Momofuku; even if Eggslut wanted to expand, they'd need a lot more space than just what Milk Bar has. Personally, I think Eggslut is a bit overrated, but there's the whole NYC-esque phenomenon of people waiting on a line because other people are waiting on that line.

    Nice report!

I need to learn how to grind out the points on slots... but it's hard to drag my butt away from VP!

I didn’t know that trick about slots on VP machines. I often play the Cleo 9 square slot at the bar of Beau Rivage. Never knew the payout is the % of the video poker. They have Wolf Run and Coyote Moon, too. I’ll look at the bar tops when I’m in Vegas next. Thanks.
I love how many different games you play!

Totally agree. Eggslut is good, but not worth a 30-45 minute wait. We usually prefer Va Bene for breakfast. Cheese sandwich panini is just wow.

Dont get me wrong, I like the look of the space and the fact something like Eataly even exists! I just hate that they crammed so much into it, and the maze it becomes to get into the casino.

I think Egg Slut needs to just Starbucks itself then. The mall by my house has 3 of them in it. 3 in a single mall! Just stick 2 more Egg Sluts around the place and that would solve so much. Although, I guess if you convince yourself to wait for something, and devote all that time, maybe you build it up in your mind that it is actually better than it really is. If thats the case, they are ingenious!

Yup! Last Tues-Sat. I knew there was a meet up from the folks on another forum, but it started Monday for a mini meet, and the real meet was Tuesday when I was just landing in town :(

I've found plenty of cool games doing this flip. Like I said in the report, some casinos will only give you points based on VP earnings. But every now and then, you get lucky, and can really rack them up! No matter what, you can still sit and play for awhile on these things. Your millage may vary obviously, but I have been doing it for 20 years and they all seem pretty damn fair.

Our 9 Cleo game got me 6 bonus games in about 10 minutes of play. None of them for more than $30 on a $2.25 bet, but they come fast and you can kill it if you get all 3 Cleos.

I have no idea how I won $300 on this thing. Found this on a Game King before. Some of these games are just plan weird!

Thanks for another report on a fun family trip. Your girls are really growing.

You do amazingly well with getting points and lots of play without big losses. Where are the bank of "grinders" at Cosmo?

I didn't want to post that info on my site, for fear Cosmo will either yank them or they would draw a crowd, and then I cant get in on them!

Walking in from the Strip, head past the main escalators and just past the HL table room. On your right hand side, tucked in that corner directly in from of the restrooms, you will see my bank of 8. High Energy 7's, Double Jackpot 7's, My Fortune Fruit game I posted and my Emperor I posted in the report. Fruit and Emperor are the best to Grind on. 5 line $1.00 and any mixed line returns your bet. Which is ideal. 2X5X10 1 line 3 credit is there as well, but it is not a Grinder! Too many high dollar possibilities on that one. And that pulls from the average math on a basic spin.

IE less returned per push, to build the reserve for the big dollar hits

    @emmas

For sport, take a look at this picture. I pride myself on finding the best values on the Strip LOL

This was on a $200 ticket to start. I was up and down, but never that much, before finally getting this decent hot of $115. $100 was the Bar Bar 10X + $5 for mixed Bars and an extra $10 for the 10X being on payline 2.

But take a look at my points earned that session before I finally took a picture. 1,768. That is $2,210 of coin in, on $200, and I was up by then. That is a shit ton of play. And it wasn't one weird session. I have been using this bank for points since I started staying at Cosmo.

They have a penny $2.50 Max Bet Elvis (two actually) Shake Rattle and Reels in the tony slot corner to your left as soon as you enter the casino from the lobby. Those are point machines as well!

Great report as always! I was at Cosmo the same dates as you and chased the progressives on your points grinding machines by the bathrooms. You have a beautiful family!

Sorry we didn't get a chance to catch up! I'm betting we were on the same gambling floor at TI at the same time for at least a couple of days!!

Damnit! I would have loved a wing man at ti! With the family in tow, I was flying solo when I played. How did you miss me? Usually someone from a forum or reader of my stupid site will come up to me in Vegas at random. I usually stick out from the crowd.

As if they go through their mental checklist: Tall, Big, Tattoos, Beard, White, Backwards cap like a stupid frat boy, playing a slot no one else would play and wearing sunglasses indoors... "Hi, are you Grid"?

Two funny stories on this, well, funny to me anyway.

Last year I was at G2E at the Venetian. I met a couple of my readers while walking around. And after exchanging some fist bumps and "Right On's" one of them said "We found you, what do we get"? I was stumped, so I said "A free hug" and I hugged her. She laughed and said "Seriously, you don't give people anything that find you"? Completely confused, I said I'm not Waldo and asked her what she wanted. I guess she watches Brian Christopher slot videos, and he gives people trinkets when they come up to him. I know Brian, I didn't know he paid out in prizes. My hug was all I had to share.

Stupid story #2. I'm at Luxor a couple years back, and some Biker dude comes up to me and says "You da Grid"? Yup! He laughs and tells me he was gambling somewhere months back, and someone came up to him and said "Are you Grid"? He didn't know what that meant, the guy explained it to him, he went on his phone and found my site and started reading my trip reports because of it.

He was big, white and a biker. But didn't really look like me. But the Asian guy that thought he was me figured he looked close enough to ask.

If anyone ever sees this Big Lug walking around, come say hi! Free hugs! But no free trinkets...

You missed me too? I gotta be louder when I'm out gambling LOL. Thanks for the family comment, I might not be that lucky of a gambler, but I got lucky elsewhere in life.

    Thanks Mum!
