Hey Everyone. Haven't posted in a long time. Jason and I love The Strip and all it has to offer. We're going back next week and again in July on two different MGM offers. We are pretty loyal to MGM because most of our favorite casinos/hotels are MGM properties. Plus, MyVegas Rewards add a nice cherry on top. I would say most of the time all of our bank roll goes to MGM and it usually gets rewarded with anywhere from 2-4 comp nights stay with $50 resort credit and a small amount of freeplay. Jason dabbled in CET last time and spent maybe about $300 which gave him a 2 night stay deal (if he booked one night at regular price) at almost any of the properties plus a small amount for a resort credit.

    ANYWAY...

The whole reason of me giving all that information is we have seen a lot of loyalty go to Cosmo. Many of the more prolific members of this group (who also post regular Youtube Slot Videos) frequently use Cosmo and I was just wondering how comps and customer service compare to the other two major companies mentioned above? (MGM & CET) I would imagine my level of play would warrant comps so I'm not asking whether or not I should expect to get comps, but more wondering do you think the comps are comparable, competitive, easier, tougher, etc...

I did talk to a host at Cosmo awhile back and he gave me $50 freeplay just to explore Cosmo and that was really nice. There definitely seem to be a lot of satisfied customers who use Cosmo but it would be nice to hear a well-rounded opinion of the property since it's one of the few stand alone casinos on The Strip.

Side comment: Although we love Treasure Island's rooms and enjoy their buffet, their casino is a tad small so we don't spend a lot of money there.

    For my level of play:
    • Freeplay is higher at Cosmo although there is variation seasonally. Freeplay amount at Cosmo is always as good or better than what I get from MLife for the same daily average coin-in.
    • The everyday retail price of a room I get comped at Cosmo at my level of play is significantly higher than what I can get from MLife.
    • If you look at the combined retail value of the room type, number of nights offered, freeplay, and resort/dining credit, it's much higher at Cosmo than MLife
I've never had any service issues at Cosmo other than minor things that were addressed immediately. And the couple of times I've needed to do something "off-process," they handled it well.

Is this from slot and VP play? They have been terrible at tracking my play for table games. So much so that I hate playing there.

I’m a slot player and have gotten my best offers (rooms, free play, resort credit) from Cosmo by far. The best part of it is I love the hotel, balconies, restaurants, and casino. My suggestion is to give them some good play and see what happens.

True enough, my last trip I actually spent five days there without ever stepping foot outside. Next trip I do plan to walk to the Bellagio to see the conservatory and have dinner. I may even give the Aria a little play one afternoon. Want to keep the Vegas excitement fresh lol.

No question their tracking for tables is deficient in a lot of ways. I won't play tables there except a little throwaway pai gow.

I'm not sure I've seen a lot of other table-mostly players say their offers suck (at least not lately), but their whole system for tables is opaque as far as I'm concerned. And if I can't see an activity reflected in some number somewhere, I'm not doing it. At least when it comes to gaming.

I probably should add that in addition to the comp value of offers, Cosmo gives you a 5% rebate on hotel spend in the form of Identity Points, vs. MLife at zero and CET at 1%.

I've never lost as much or as consistently as I do at the Cosmo. Love the rooms and hotel and everything about the place except their slot machines. This is based on a 5 night comped stay and pass through gambling. The other problem you may have is Cosmo is the only casino in their cub so if you're having bad luck there, you're only option is to wander to a different property to change your luck.

I think the slot channels record there because Cosmo lets them. They're recording friendly where most properties aren't still.

I was MLife (first mirage then Aria) for many years as I liked there properties and like you enjoyed the myVEGAS add ons. I started splitting my stay when Cosmo gave me 2 nights. Did many trips like that. Trip last week was a full 5 days comped at Cosmo. Loved not packing up and moving.

I'm fully committed to Cosmo at this point because I love the property. Balconies can't be beat, enjoy the casino and the drinks. Once the new high end food court opens they will have it all.

I don't get any FP or resort credit like I did with MLife but I consider the balcony room more important and they are giving me more nights. Since I like to stay longer the perks of getting extra nights based on your tier to be used on top of your marketing offers is a great plus as well.

You don't have to fully switch. It's actually good to have options at multiple properties.

What's your normal bankroll, and for how many days do you usually stay? Do you play slots or tables?

I like Cosmo for... the rooms/balcony, restaurants, video poker bars (Bond and Chandelier have outstanding drinks IMO), the variety of machines, and the vibe.

However, to be fair, everything about Cosmo is expensive $$$$$$$ and trendy. If you just walk the casino floor, you'll see the difference to other casinos. The room rates are pricey. Quote an average 3 day trip over the weekend, and I'll bet it's $1000-$1300 dollars for a terrace (balcony) studio. So you've gotta have some serious coin in if ya know what I mean...

Since you got the freeplay, I'm assuming you have their players club card. You could always drop $500 into the machines while in Vegas staying at a different property, get some coin-in, and see what (if anything) comes in the mail.

I have found the Cosmo to be my favorite since it opened, even though I admit I have been there in too long. I am still an MGM/Cosmo split player with my MyVegas point build up and MGM properties near me. I would play very little walking through and always get a two night offer at the Cosmo. I love the identity points on food and shopping, and of course those gorgeous balconies.

I am actually quoting a few different hotels right now for a Fall stay and the Cosmo seems to be right in line with pricing with the other higher end hotels. The Aria Deluxe Strip View, Palazzo Bella Suite, and a Terrance One Bed Balcony Fountain View are all within a few dollars of each other at $320 a night for a Friday/Saturday stay. I was also able to book a Lanai suite for $500 a night on Sun-Mon.

Sorry for the late reply! Between the two of us we usually bring about $1600... give or take a couple hundred.

All I have to say about Cosmo is that I have emailed Kevin numerous times in an effort to at least try it on a comped stay and all I get back from him is that my historical play at Cosmo doesn't warrant a comp (gee - I'm staying at Aria - aren't I supposed to give them most of my play during a comped stay)????

I've never been turned down for a comped stay at any casino before this and many of my trips include airfare. Even Foxwoods will comp me and I haven't been there in 10 years.

Looks like Aria/Wynn are going to be keeping my business for the immediate future.

All you have to do is give them a few hours of good play on your next trip to Aria and you will definitely get offers...no question about it.

I really love the casino in the Cosmo &the drinks service is excellent. I played a few hours there (slots) my last stay when myself and the OH were out exploring. I kicked myself later that I didn't sign up for the player card before hand as I'm sure after reading other posts on here that I would have received an offer based on that afternoon. I fully intend to give a few hours of play in the Cosmo this next trip in December (I'll make sure I have a player card this time!). Fingers crossed I'll get an offer for my trip in 2019 as I'd love to try it out.

Is it better to start off with signing up for the players card then play? Vs trying to get an offer match upfront?

Not sure if they are still offer matching or not... With the economy and Vegas doing so much better, there’s kinda less of a need for them to offer match. However it doesn’t hurt to message Kevin. They offer matched me about 2.5 years ago and created my Identity account at the time because I didn’t have one.
