On my very short trip in June I could not find the old Ultimate Fire Link, multi denom. I usually do most of my gambling at Caesar's properties but due to so many negative changes for Diamond players I am branching out. In September I will be staying center strip 3 nights, still getting good comp room offers. Then moving downtown to Plaza for 3 nights.
I love playing Ultimate FL, the newer version has not been very good to me. It would really help if anyone can point me in right direction.
I love this site, so much good info.

Cosmo has Ultimate Fire Link, Ultra Hot Fire Link aka Ultra Not, and Ultimate Fire Link Power 4. Of course, that could change in September. But the Fire Links have been there a while.

Thank you for info...we did go to Cosmo mainly to play video poker at Chandelier Bar...wanted to try verbina (?sp). It was pretty good. Also found Lord of the Rings Rule Them All. I love this machine but my usual casinos within driving distance from me took them out. I live in Virginia. Now if I could find my all time favorite Margaritaville, pretty sure that is not going to happen. Flamingo used to have it near the Margaritaville restaurant. I made diamond in a day 2 times playing it for hours and walked away a winner or at least only loosing my initial $100. Maybe that's why they took it out.
Do you know if any of the casinos have the large community play wheel of fortune. A advertisement picture of Casino Royale shows it and I think I read a trip report a few months ago that mentioned another strip property having it.
    again Thanks for answering.

I think it's referred to in Gird's most recent trip report, but it sounds like the Strip casinos are all turning into what our locals look like in terms of slot selection....the same Dancing Drums, Lightening Links, Fire Links, etc. that every casino in the world has.

I hope they realize that part of the allure of going to different casinos is getting a different selection, older machines, unique mix of games. I can sit on Dancing Drums five minutes from my house in Massachusetts.

Aria has them as well - of course they do - they are the slowest property on the strip to install new machines... :LOL

Well some of us have to drive 4 hrs just to get to a casino. Why I go to Vegas so often - the flight is 4.5 hrs :) :)

I also have to drive 4 to 5 hrs and if I can get a direct flight reasonably priced I would much rather do Vegas., flight about 5hrs. Virginia will have 2 maybe 3 casinos in a year or so. I'm not holding out much hope that any of them will be player friendly.
    Thanks to all for info.

I live in deep red NC, which will likely be the last state to have casinos or legal weed. I'm pretty sure one of the VA casinos will be 90 minutes away - near Danville?

I'm surrounded....MGM Springfield right here.....1 hour south to Foxwoods and Mohegan, two of the biggest on the planet.....1.5 hours east to Encore Boston.......1 hour to Twin River in RI......about the same to Plainridge (slot parlor) Park.....

We're about saturated. But I still say locals never replace Vegas, they just temporarily scratch an itch. It's a different thing altogether.

Saturated is an understatement. I live north of NYC. Closest is Resorts World Catskill (1 hour) or Yonkers Raceway (30 min) (MGM purchased this because they are most likely going to get the "downstate" permission to convert it to a full casino and resort. Foxwoods and Mohegan are 2 hours (4 with traffic), Rivers in Schenectady NY is 2 hours, Turning Stone is 3.5 and I venture here for their bigger bingos as Foxwoods bingo hall is a joke now since Pandemic and they cut the number of games in half, lowered the prizes but kept the same admission prices. When Sands owned Bethlehem PA, it was about 1:30 from me but after they sold it I never went back. Then you have Atlantic City at 3-4 hours away aka, not Faux Vegas. Considering I am in a casino on average 3 weekends per month, I have been to AC maybe twice and I have no desire to go back. They want to keep adding more including moving the old Monticello slot license (Resorts World is full service license) down to near Woodbury Commons Outlets in Orange County NY.

Oh, and I forgot MGM Springfield, about 1.5 hours. I went the second weekend (my MGM host hooked me up) and had so many problems but I just disliked the layout, not enough food choices and waiting in line to even step foot into the food court which they were capacity controlling. I am platinum in at M-Life and I went to regular players club to pick up card and they told me to go the hosts office. I walk over and I got yelled at for entering and they waned to know who sent me. I had to walk the host back and point out the players club rep that sent me. I know growing pains but there just was no compelling reason to go back.

I have never been a Total Rewards member so never play at any of their properties. I get the appeal of them having local casinos that you get rewarded for your play with comps to go out to Vegas and it keeps the play inside of the family. The problem is MGM and now Wynn are trying to copy that model but I just have way too many casinos to pick from on any given weekend. Granted all of them require at least 40 min on the road, but traffic in this area sometimes means it takes 40 minutes to 15 miles.

Nothing compares to Vegas and you can't replicate the energy out there at a locals casino. While I spend a lot of time gambling in Vegas, as well as at locals, it feels different in Vegas. Maybe it is the sheer size of the casinos, and even when it is crowded it is almost never so crowded that you can't get on any slot machines. All of the locals around me get packed at peek times that you spend more time walking around. I can do a night in any of the casinos above. The closest to holding my attention for more than 1 night is Foxwoods or Mohegan Sun (I am primarily Foxwoods just because of Bingo, but it is a 10 min drive between them and if you get bored you can go between them.) Between the two, there are so many places to eat, a mall, concerts, and tons of slot, tables and everything between. Resorts World Catskill has a nice slot floor, but it has like 2 options for dinner and 1 breakfast place. If you go more than once a month it gets so repetitive. Loose all your money and you are in your room staring out the window because the only store is tiny with nothing new.

Ok, rant over. I guess I love Vegas. Back to regularly scheduled programming, sorry for the thread hijack. :)

Between Foxwoods and Mohegan, I win more often at Foxwoods....but I like Mohegan better in terms of layout. I like Mohegan's setup with two huge casinos, and I like to wander back and forth between them. Foxwoods casinos themselves aren't very big.....the bigness in Foxwoods seems to be the common areas and the long hallways between these small casinos. The mall is a nice feature at Foxwoods and I like to walk, so sometimes I go there just to get some steps in walking and play a few slots here and there. If I want to stay and really play slots, I prefer Mohegan - place is just so darn tight, so hard to win there.

Luckily I do the best at MGM which is the closest to home. Obviously different experience than Fox/Mohegan which aren't really "locals" but more "destinations", but we like MGM a lot - been a nice addition here with the Regal cinema and TAP, Chandlers, Wahlburgers now, and have brought us some concerts and shows back to downtown. Been thrilled with them as a local resident.

I have the same assessment of Foxwoods vs Mohegan. If only Foxwoods built the monorail (the shell of the stations are along the back of the property and are part of the stair towers that double as emergency exits) and were to connect Two Trees Inn, stop at each hotel and different stops along the property the layout would work better. They built their last tower so far away and even with a short moving walkway, if you stay at the Fox tower and have to go to Bingo or Poker room it is a solid 20 min walk.

I need to give Springfield another chance, it was only the second weekend. The whole experience with the host office there was so off putting. I can go to Vegas and get Sky Suites fully comped at Aria with full tab picked up, limos and a lot of free play but they treated me so poorly. Not to mention the room I checked into wasn't cleaned from previous guest and the second room the keys didn't work. I even wrote an email afterwards and someone calling me back and left voice mail, I called them 5 times and finally gave up cause they didn't try calling back again.

Anyways to get back on track to this thread, Aria I think has Ultimate Fire Link bank, it is over by the exit for Valet/Aria Parking Garage.

Texas would like to have a word. Weed will have a tough time getting legal here because “think of the children!” Plus making busts along the border is big money. Casinos have a better chance of happening but I don’t think it happens in the next decade. Sports betting comes online this fall in Louisiana so even more money will be pouring over the border.
