If your doing 3000 points a day earned your hitting the tier bonuses and you would get to 25k in TC in 4 visits. 2500 earned TC’s in a day gets you a five thousand point bonus. If your only doing 2000 points a day and missing the big bonus (by 500 points) it makes sense to restructure your play to maximize comp return.

Let me get this straight. Slightly confused here. In 2017, I had 34,000 points. This year, I am sitting at just over 12,000. Even if I don't make 25,000 this year, I should be eligible to go into the Diamond Lounge for the entire year based on my 2017 points. Is that correct?

That is correct. You could play zero this entire year and have access the whole time.

Until January 31, 2019 unless they change rules again.

I haven't been to my local as much this year since the comp change. The lounges outside Vegas pretty much suck (except Nola and AC) . My Host finally caught up with me on property saying, Hey we have missed you here lately. I promptly told him, CET basically changed their players club program in a way that it no longer makes sense for players like me to continue to earn TR points past 25K when they took away ASSpirations level and de-valued the Diamond status benefits.

The rehearsed response was but you still get additional benefits like Atlantis Trip at 40K and you earn rewards points, marketing offers, and bounce back.
He didn't like it when I told him that HSI was looking shabby, their restaurants pretty much suck, and Belterra an extra 30 mins away is sending 4 times the comps for the same play I give them. To which he said he would provide my feedback to the GM.

My local is flooded with Diamond players, but the feedback in Vegas and around my local from similar players like myself that people are unhappy with the program changes made this year. Since this is the first full year out of bankruptcy, I am guessing Mark P. Frissora is feeling the pressure to deliver higher earnings, hence the sticking it to the players club.

I've heard similar stories about Vegas Lounges recently. I don't think the staff in the Diamond Lounges like the changes now either, and for the reasons that I predicted when they were initially talking about rolling out this change. Many workers have been laid off; which causes them to be extremely short staffed (They had 2 servers working the entire shift at Paris this week). One worker was laid off from Diamond lounge, but was brought back to cover someone's shift.

They feel the bartenders may be next to take a hit. They haven't been as crowded, but as I predicted their tips stopped coming in as frequently as well. Many bartenders have complained that the high level Diamond and 7 Stars don't tip, because they don't feel they have to since they are high limit. Although it is not all it is some.

This all seems like a ploy from Caesar's to bounce back from their financial difficulties by trimming small pieces of programs that ultimately won't affect their bottom line.

I'm glad they raised the level to enter the lounge for free, it had gotten wayyyy to crowded in Vegas. When high level diamonds and 7 stars can't get into the lounges because they are at capacity because of the 15k point and player match free loaders are showing up for their nightly dinner that's a problem. My issue is that they created this mess with the program changes to begin with, because they wanted more players putting higher daily spend in. That caused a spike in Diamond players across the country and impacted their comp spend. Rather than raising the level or adding another tier between Diamond and Seven Star, they cut benefits.

I think a lot of people who get Diamond status through status match from other casinos as well as the ones getting it through the Founder's club card are not gambling and go the diamond lounge, CET should have at least let people who earned it the hard way with 15000 tier points to access diamond lounge for free, those who didn't earned it the hard way should gamble enough to pay $10 in rewards point to get in. Diamond is getting too crowded these days. We went in May, there was no line. but there was always a line to get in the first quarter of this year. BTW, they have upgrade their food offering to including chicken wings, salad and fruit and even extra meat dish like salmon and beef So that is good in a way. I think people who didn't earn at least 15000 points should at least gamble to get enough rewards points to pay the fee to get in. But I don't think they will change their policy now. Actually, you can lose a lot of money trying get the extra 10000 points. Might as well pay $10 in point per person to get in. But on the plus side, they now allow people with 25000 points to get one guest in for free and 2 extra guests for $10 in rewards points each. So that is the only good thing on the new policy, but that is just my opinion.

On my recent visit I only stopped into to the DL once (at Paris), There was no lines while the food was a little upgraded, there was less service staff. Only two waiters and one bartender. Ordered a mudslide and was informed they no longer offer frozen drinks. I'm all for cost controls and effective programs. However I can't help but think this is a CET self inflicted wound. The match program made it impossible to use show tickets, get into the lounges and they saw no increased activity. Players who have been mid-level Diamond for years are the ones that suffered. The $10 should be a big issues but the lack of service is.

CET is getting so bad. They talk about their 'Loyalty' program, but where is their loyalty to us the players. They should take away the founders card and and just let the people who play use the lounges. In a way I am glad of the 25,000 points to get in because sometimes it's so hard to get in the DL lounges, but maybe if they take away the founders card and the tier match, it would be better for the gamblers which is what it was for originally.

Wouldnt it be easier for them to just make it 25k points to be diamond instead of point restrictions?

I blame the founder's card giveaway and the status matches. It costs a lot more to earn those 15,000 points than paying $300 for a founder card. That's the problem - yet we're all punished. Screw CET. I'm not even gonna bother anymore.

I suggested letting 15000 Diamonds in free after 7 pm, but it fell on deaf ears. I think we should all write to CET and ask why Founders cards get in free (do they?). It is really absurd if they do!

I guess another problem is that local people go to Diamond Lounge almost daily or even daily to have dinner there. They could limit the number of entries to limited number per month or per year and charge for entry after that rather than charging a fee for entry to people who go maybe only few times a year. I would be happy with 24 entries per year or twice a month, I think most people would be okay with that except the local who go daily. Of course the seven stars should have unlimited access.

This was happening a few years ago when “the appetizers” my local served was similar to a meal. At the time, they changed the policy that one could have free entry 8 times a month. With the remodel, they built a big beautiful lounge and offer very little. It’s not worth it.

I’m posting from Carsar’s DL. There was no line and the food is better than last year.

I have been to Vegas three times in the last month and a half and I used to see very long lines when I passed by the flamingo lounge and Caesars lounges even at 4:30 but lately seems like anything past 4:10 you can roll right in. I typically go to the planet Hollywood lounge because it has never been busy being tucked on the mezzanine level. I know there have been rumblings that the servers and bartenders are not happy because it is slower and their tips are less but I talked to the bartender at the Caesars lounge for quite a while last week and he doesn’t have any issues with it.

I think this is the direction they are going as a business. Brand licensing and cross marketing. I have gotten hounded with cross marketing offers from CET thru affiliates now. The only one worthwhile has been Wyndham diamond status and Rocket Miles IMHO. But they are trying their damnedest to get incremental revenue thru cross marketing products to their players. I think this is Mark Francisco key business move, he sees the player database as a marketing data goldmine to be exploited. He did a similar move when he ran Hertz.

I don't think it impacts most of Caesars Palace lounge guests, they normally are a higher spend guest category, not to mention the play requirement for comp rooms is higher, so I am sure they don't see traffic from the "Lets use the diamond lounge as our personal daily restaurant" crowd, that some of the other properties get.

I had rarely gone to Caesars diamond lounge in the past even when I am staying there because it was always so busy. I think that is mainly because the hotel is so giant so there is just more volume of people to have easy access to it. I am still able to get comped rooms at Caesars so I do have one booked for the 22nd - 25th. I will check it out then. I do like it when there is a bar in the lounge to sit at and a bartender to chat with. Paris has a nice bar but harrahs bar is very dark so I don’t go there. The couch in the back of the planet Hollywood lounge is probably my favorite spot though. I typically just have a drink or two and leave. Maybe grab some fruit or a pretzel.

Just came back from Las Vegas, Diamond Lounge is getting busy again. We had to wait to get in the Paris diamond lounge. And there was a long line of people waiting to get in after we got in. It seems like people are willing to pay $10 reward points to get in. I guess it is still a good deal especially if you have a few drinks. I saw one party of 3 got turned away because they didn't have enough points. I guess some people still don't know that they need to pay with reward points if their tier level is under 25,000 points. I guess CET is not going to change the policy as long as people are willing to pay with the reward points and they will get pople to gamble more to achieve the level or to get enough reward points to get in. Hope they won't increase the tier point level again.
