    meh, most.
yall do know, the later you check in at Cosmo, the more likely you get a higher floor, cuz maid service does the rooms from the bottom up?
learned that on the flip side.. 5pmish check in has never done me wrong,
also places that only have a single smoking floor, it's usually high, and works well for me...
Thought I was ballin by getting 32nd floor at Cal- yeah, no, that's the only smoking floor.

If a spot is all non smoking, which I feel should never be the case for a suite, (Golden Gate, Mlife?),
    I ain't staying there.

When I used to work at a hotel, 3rd party reservations always got run of the house (meaning everything about the reservation is just a preference). While we would try to accommodate their preferences when it was slow, they were the 1st to get downgraded when it was busy. And because the 3rd party is paying, they're easy reservations for management to spot when something is given away that shouldn't be. At least with guest pay reservations, changing the rate code or room type can often go unnoticed unless you're looking at the change history carefully.

So this was my experience at Aria....Got dropped off (uber) around 915pm, noticed a disneyland length of a line at check-in so went over to the E-line check in even though no one was there attending. I did noticed a gentlemen in the back and signaled him pretending i had a quick question. He instead helped me check in and that's when I showed my 20's and hundys spilling out of my wallet and asked "is there any complimentary upgrades (to a suite) available?". I was given a friendly lecture about how its given (none of which I remembered). Bottom line, he said he is an honest person and couldn't do anything for me as I was not "qualified". I guess I think it still comes down to getting the right person as from previous posts on this thread.
