I'm heading to Vegas next week for a 10 day trip. Planning to partake in many non-gambling activities.

I sprained my knee earlier in April and reinjured it this weekend. So while I can walk fine, if slowly, elevation changes aren't a good idea. That said, I wanted to visit both Red Rocks and Valley of Fire. Is there any reason to if I can't hike? Can I see enough from the car or walking on flat surfaces or should I wait until another trip?

You can see lots at Red Rock if you drive.....several lookout points to park at that are flat elevation and the views are beautiful. I love the hiking personally but I went with a girlfriend who is....um how should I say this...extremely lazy and wanted to do a drive only and seeing she was the one with the rental car and I wanted to stop and gamble at Red Rock I didn't mind. Was enjoyable

We went to Red Rock in July in the middle of the day. It was too hot to hike, but we had a good time driving the loop and stopping at the lookout points. Went to RR resort too and enjoyed it. Even if you can't hike it, I'd still recommend going. It's a short drive from the strip and something different to do.

I guess we'll let you join...
We did the "driving tour" at Red Rock. Spent about 90 minutes in total. I'm not into nature much at all, but I still enjoyed it.

And if you have never been to Red Rock casino, I recommend that as well. One of the nicest locals' casinos in town.

Valley of Fire is absolutely worth a visit even if you don't hike. We got out of the car a few times to look at stuff but didn't do anything even close to a hike, and we still really enjoyed it!
