that same trip I saw someone eating a whole box of pizza on the slot floor while playing and no one chewed him out. Seems like not everyone gets an ass chewing

You can always order to-go from The Henry, too, and take it to the room :)

You know, I gave this a lot of thought…. I actually wrote something and then deleted it.

I like Mlife comps as well as Wynncore. The comped rooms, FP and RC’s are nice perks.

TBH, I really like MyVEGAS custom rewards because I/we can accumulate the LP’s during the long, cold dark winter months. The room upgrades and resort credits give us a running start before we arrive. The limos, flowers, bubbly are wonderful surprises to the brains of the organization :) The lifelong wish of driving a (C8) Corvette…..on a racetrack is pretty sweet for a 60th BD. Those custom rewards are separate from the other 6 rewards we get thru Konami and MyVEGAS.

LOL, same here! I'd much rather eat in a standard food court, than have fancy sit down service. The pisser for me is, my RFB credit doesn't cover my chicken nuggets in the food court at most places.

I think low end dining, and some national fast food brands, would cheapen the Cosmo up. I get whey they don't have any, just one of the reasons I wander out when I stay there to eat.

But, that is more on me then on them!

There has to be more to the story than this Camp.Did they have money in the machine? Or, did they just use a slot machine as a personal dining table?

I have seen people hog up machines by making them their personal phone booth, diner table, makeup table, bed (yes, I have seen people sleeping at a machine) ETC.

How much ass did they chew out over that? Hell, they had out cookies in one of the slot areas. I would go as far as to say the staff at Cosmo is second to none in Vegas. If they were eating, and not playing, I can see another gambler complaining to security or something, that they wanted to play that machine, but someone was squatting on it. If staff shooed them away like that, I could see it.

Ive never heard of any player getting yelled at for eating a cookie while they played a slot. I have done much worse at a machine!

If you use a slot machine as your bedroom, you deserve to have Hookers come up to you and make fun like this!

Well...I have been reading the responses and this is an interesting thread because it is so much about personal preference. I used to stay at TI exclusively and had some very good offers. Usually a suite and $400 -$500 in free play. After many trips, I would get bored with the slot selection and always wonder the strip. I played at V/P and stayed once--still get offers with free play. V/P was just too big for my liking. Okay...just going to fast forward to now. Stayed on a match offer in 2019 at Cosmo and never looked back. I still get offers from MLife and TI. The value at Cosmo for me--the room and the fancy stuff. At home, we just don't do "fancy." We are usually too tired or stick to our local divey type of place. But for me, I love the way I feel at the Cosmo. I know those Benjamins will fly out soon enough--but man I just like the vibe there. I really don't even gambol at Chandy. Just like to sit and drink those elegant cocktails and soak it all up. That is the value. I want a compeltely different experience than I get in my real life.

we both were playing. I swear to you, it totally happened and was the weirdest thing. My friend was like "omg of course I'll stop, I didn't know" and I was like "This is so weird"

I too was a ti player for quite awhile. I don't know about you, but their "suites" and the suites I was staying in elsewhere, were never of equal value.

Before I booked my last trip, which i took last month, I hit up my host at Treasure Island, to see why my offers there weren't as good as they were in years past. I used to pull up to $600 in Free Play, and the weak Petite Suite (which is still way better than a standard room. My current offers were $300 in Free Play and just a high floor upgrade. Who gives a shit about room height as an upgrade?

Any way, I got too much host speak for my liking in reply when i asked her what gives. She said the promotions are computer generated and go by your play the last 2 years (daily average). BUT She said they probably went back a little farther, because of the pandemic. And she sited a trip sometime in 2017 or 2018, where I played a little below my average.

Weak excuse. Like 1 trip, 3 or 4 years ago, would do any damage when I have stayed and played at or above my average plenty since. She did offer to toss another $100 in free play on my account and $250 in Food Bev, when I showed her my other offers in town. Even that came with a sliding scale, the $250 in RFB was only good if I stayed during the week. Weekends it would only be $150. And if she gave me my usual Petite Suite, then she couldn't give me the RFB, since the suite took up too much comp.

I appreciate when a host is upfront with what they can and cant do. But I just couldn't make any of it work. Not when comparing it to other offers I have in town. Losing my $150 RFB, in order to gain a 600 SQFT suite. Is not the same as keeping a 1,500 SQFT high end suite with Mlife, and also keeping the full $300 RFB no matter which days I stay with them.

I like fancy too! Which is one thing ti doesn't have.

Very weird! I have often set up shop at a slot there, without issues. And I'm talking laying out a sub sandwich, while I add fixins like squirting mayo and mustard from packets on it. All while balancing my Monster Tall Boy energy drink on the other side, and messing with a bag of chips.

When I hunker in to grind on a slot, I take up space! And Ive never been ass chewed about it. Maybe you two just looked like trouble.

I'm convinced that Cosmo security spins a wheel every morning to decide what they're going to nitpick that day. Not long after re-opening, I once took a photo of the "CASHIER" sign for my friend who loves it there. A half-hour later someone tracked me down at Holstein's to ask me about it. People bring outside food into Lift Bar all the time.
Monster Rehab is my lifeblood. I mostly switched to it from coffee a few years ago, because I need the caffeine and I can drink it faster.

    we def are trouble LOL

I've had MGM do some weird things as well when gaming too. Same trip, we asked for a drink while playing at Aria. Waitress asked for IDs, which we said OK and got out our IDs, then she REFUSED to look at them and was like "I guess I'll go get you a drink" Like WHAT, you asked for ID, which we both happily supplied for you to look at, then you do not look at it, and huff off. Like keep your rum and diet LOL! (we are both in our 30s so it's not like we are on the edge of legal here)

I am working on a system where I can just strap that big bottle of monster to my chest, and inject it via IV while in Vegas. Still working out the kinks. Unless you load up your can drink pretty much any energy drink on the rocks. You have to slam those things, as they taste like battery acid if not ice cold!

I've seen you in your trip reports. I'd ID you as well! I have never had that problem, since I was like 6' tall and had a beard since the 8th grade. But my poor Asian wife, who is knocking on 40 now, still gets carded. I guess its a good problem to have, that you all look so young.

I laugh at her, when we go to our local Indian casino. They card you if you look young, and put a wristband on you once you prove your age. She will hold up her arm with her red plastic wristband as she goes in and out of the casino. I tell her now she can go on all the rides at the carnival.

I'm personally aware of casinos getting dinged for not carding people. There was a significant fine for a casino not carding someone for two hours, and NGCB does not appreciate it. My girlfriend just turned 30, but she looks about 17, and they always card her. I look... a bit older (even though I'm not that much older). Honestly, I don't blink at it anymore; I always have an ID on me, so if they want to glance at it, I'm not too bothered.

I will heartily endorse Monster Rehab. It actually tastes good, and it's not carbonated. The one I usually drink is the tea/lemonade one, it's basically a highly-caffeinated Arnold Palmer.

haha! Yes I don't mind being carded but if I AM carded, I do expect that they LOOK at my ID and not be thinking I got a fake or something. I even have that fancy REAL ID one haha

Yup, that was exactly me as well. Younger Grid would only use the room to shit and shower in. I barley slept in my room, it was just a place to toss my stuff. BUT, that was back when my play only got me standard rooms around town. And by and large, a decade ago, my luck seemed to run the same no matter where I played.

If one club offered me $100 and another $250, it was an easy call on where I would stay.

These days, a kickass suite and a good casino is what will tip me over for booking. I'm booking Cosmo over Mlife my next go round, even though the suites might be a bit of a push, and the upfront offers are nearly $500 in Mlife's favor.

After not winning, any day on a 5 day attempt with Mlife. I think I trust the slots at Cosmo more, to not fleece me as much.

I took the bigger offer with Mlife, and it cost me $5,000 in slot losses in the casino. Sure, I got $500 more up front, but I certainly paid for it in the end LOL. It is the same story on why I ditched CET years ago. I just couldn't catch a break in their casino. Sure, luck has something to do with it. But when you seem to have next to no luck every time you try, you have to follow your gut.

I fully understand how offers work. If they can expect to take $9K off me in losses (based on my averages), and are willing to comp a third of that into future offers. $3K can be chopped up a bunch of ways!

I think CET gives TOO many options for offers. Basic room + $300 free play. Basic room + 200 Food/Bev (no free play). Better room + $100 free play. Better room + visa gift card or gift (no free play) ETC ETC

When I bring up my offers online, for each property, there are probably a dozen different ones to choose from.

Treasure Island is the opposite. They really only have 2 room options, and a handful of actual suites. They are always free play front loaded. Basically just 1 offer.

Mlife will move the needle based on days and room you select. Sure, you will always get the free play and RFB they say. But certain days you are not eligible for the better rooms. It takes some trying to get to a sweet spot you like.

I wish you had the option of ranking what it is that will entice you back. Better room, More Free Play or RFB. That way, more clubs can cater offers to what will drive you back through their doors.

My pie would be 40% room 60% free play. No need for Resort Credit, as my play is enough to use my points to pay for food. BUT, I just don't have that option at most places, since it is all so cookie cutter.

Obviously, ti doesn't have the kind of fancy that Cosmo does.....it's a completely different demographic. But, I did stay in an Executive Suite on a 2019 solo trip and found it to be totally decent, albeit featuring a lot of gold in the decor. Their higher end suites are fine in my book.

I'm pretty much the same....I can get comped rooms anywhere, and just need a clean basic suite with two bathrooms. ti gives me that, and as much as $1,000 in FP, and my play gets the Mrs pool bar tab and all meals comped on the back end. I'm good with that.
