What Do We Need To Know?!

We are moving our patronage to new resorts for our Christmas and New Years trip. With that in mind, we intend on playing at V/P. We have done some reading about size, bonus boxes, CW Service, and trip reports.

Can Folks give us general impressions about their experiences at these two properties?

I've stayed at both several times. I prefer the Palazzo to the Venetian. The rooms are very similar at both but Palazzo is a little newer. The Palazzo also feels a little less packed which I like. Cocktail services at Palazzo was also better in my experience; or at least fast. There was a dedicated section where you could order drinks through the machine there which I don't think existed at Venetian. I haven't stayed there in a year though but I know the last time I was there, they were replacing all the carpet in the casino.

I'm mostly a slot player and I tend to get competitive offers from V/P versus what I get a Ceasars properties or MGM. Typically 3 or 4 comp nights and some comp play/resort credits.

I've been using Palazzo as my home property the last 7 trips. Venetian is busier and livelier, and definately more walking to get to your room. Palazzo is smaller, quieter, with fast room access from the casino. As a slot player, I really like it there, regardless of which side you decide to stay. The combined slot floor is large enough to keep you entertained so as to keep all your play there making for better comps (other properties I'd end up wandering and spreading my play). Lots of restaurants at every price point, again, makes it good for keeping all the spend at one place. Easy shopping access.

My comps seem pretty consistent since playing with them. I'd say if they lack on anything, it's the entertainment- CET, MGM, Cosmo all seem to bring in great headliners that I prefer more than what's offered at V/P, but not a deal breaker.

Hope you enjoy your stay there- ask away if you have specific questions as I know there's quite a few of us who stay there!

Oh sadly the drinks2U feature where you could order directly from your machine was disabled early this year. They said they were not expecting to bring it back.:(

Well, I don't like that :( . It was broken most of the time anyways...but was still a nice feature.

For events, I would agree. I think the best I've gotten from them is the Superbowl party (which I haven't done with them). I did do some slot tournaments, which were very well done. The best was a Wheel of Fortune event a few years ago where it was a 2 day tourney, included tickets to live filming of the show and a meet/greet with Vanna White at a gala dinner. She was really nice.

    RIP drinks2you...

We are not staying there, as I mentioned we intend on playing at both......and just wanted to get a feel for what to anticipate. We used to do Mlife coupled with Wynncore, but it is time for a change for a variety of reasons.

Thank you, VC...that info was most helpful!

Haha- I was so cheesed when they got rid of the drinks2U. My previous trip I had done a live report and basically posted a pic of every drink available on the darn thing. It was especially awesome in the mornings for coffee as I find there are usually not too many CW in the wee hours.

That WOF event looked awesome! I like when the casinos offer more of a unique experience. CET did a good job with those too when I played with them but not sure if they are still good with it. I did a $2500 buy in slot tournament last trip at Palazzo, it was only okay.....didn't even do a dinner, just a lunch buffet over registration. Perhaps I would have liked it better had I won something.:p

We are in the midst of talking with the folks at URComped to see what our mlife gold status offers befall us...

We have three night offers at both Cosmo and Delano with FP and RC. So fingers crossed

Earned Grazie Gold @ V/P, how soon will I receive my card? what's the best way to get comped rooms? what else should I be thinking about to leverage the gold status?

We received a 3 night comped offer from Palazzo today. Our May trip also includes 3 comped nights at Cosmo. Might have to save some extra sheckles for this trip.

Based on Mlife and Cosmo offers we got upgraded to a Fortuna Suite.....purrfect!
