Spoke too soon. Toronto gave them a green light. Ontario gave them the green light. Federal government in Canada today said no-ah-ah. We are such wusses.

So HUGE change at Aria pool from Friday to Saturday. Friday masks were really only enforced when walking around or going to bathroom, they weren’t enforcing at seats, basically exception drinking.

In pool no masks. So basically Friday no one at a lounge chair wore a mask.

Saturday was completely different. Masks were heavily enforced and it was rumored Aria got a huge fine. I saw multiple groups kicked out for repeated noncompliance.

Pool was thus even more crowded and a total free for all. It actually made me more nervous because the spacing at seats is actually good, not so much in the pool.

I’m cancelling August and October trips but keeping Sept because I can just stay in Phoenix and golf if Vegas closes.

The mask compliance overall was good, but the spacing compliance was not so good. I found it a little much wearing the masks this month vs last month. Just got uncomfortable after so much time with mask on in heat.

At least they are being consistent I guess. But without fans, playing in Buffalo or wherever won't kill them. Lol

Huh? That's the LEAST crowded I've seen Cosmo on a Saturday night EVER. And mask wearing was decent. That video of Cosmo (I didn't watch the whole thing - 24 minutes, no thanks) and the other parts I did watch makes me want to Vegas. I'm sure it's dead during the week with that video!

Well - it was way too crowded for me during the first minute. I wouldn't think of going in there.

Wonder if it is because of lack of demand during those days? I'm pretty sure that someone posted that Venetian started doing the same thing Mon-Thu last week or the week before?

Is that feasible for the employees to work 3-4 days per week? I suppose it's better than not having a job at all, but the images & news coming out of Vegas recently don't look sustainable for any major length of time.

    Agree with this.

I thought it was fine for one trip with Borat, we layered in golf to break it up a little. But honestly, the combination of the mask annoyance, the uncomfortable crowded situations arising occasionally, the non-compliant people here or there, closed bartops, annoying pool situation, it was just not something I needed to do again next month so I cancelled my August trip today (full flight refund due to almost 7 hour departure change which was a nice surprise).

I have Sept and Oct bookings, but something I can't place my finger on. Something about the desperation in the air, seeing the huge effort to stay open for a reduced crowd. It doesn't seem safe or profitable. I just feel like I'm gonna get cancelled by closures for Sept/Oct Vegas, Nov Masters, Dec Miami, Jan Bahamas. Pretty much everything I've guessed about this had been wrong. So I feel like my booking all those trips probably a jinx. I hope it just goes the other way for all of our sakes, but my gut is not good on this (but it's still better than Borat's gut at the Encore shitters :joycat::joycat:).

Although Palazzo hotel tower is closed Monday through Thursday the casino will remain open. Maybe they will shuffle a few of the housekeeping staff over to Venetian for those days.

I'd expect layoff announcements will be coming soon.

I wrote it up and did.trip report but on jokers forum.

mostly thing that sucked was alot of restraunts on google would say open but then got there and was closed even when then resort website said the hours

also the day after all bartops had to close was no fun since you had to order an appetizer to even get a drink from the Walk of bars at restaurants.

As mentioned in another post that are Rideshare in cab services were horrible to try to obtain.

did not enjoy having to rely only on 1-3 cocktail waitress for whole floors they were real sparse for slot areas even on weekend

just not as enjoyable as my days of fun timed past 4-6 Vegas trips per year were in 2014-2018

only went 1 time last july and was fun then too

That's really annoying. I'm not a web designer, but I have a feeling that it would take maybe ten minutes a day to keep the restaurant details updated. There are also a lot of places that are only open on weekends, like Bazaar at Sahara, which is incredibly inconvenient for people who like to do midweek trips. Yet another reason to always call first, because there are really no assumptions anyone can make right now.

And the "ordering food" thing strikes me as silly, especially with places like Lift Bar that don't serve food. I understand the intent behind it (not having masses of people crowding bars), and I am all for stringent precautions. This thing is serious. But I don't see how ordering some chicken fingers with your beer makes it safer.

We are definitely sprinting headfirst into another shutdown.

Not from a safety perspective, but Skylofts has a higher operating cost due to needing more staff. If they're going to be open, they need to have the personnel, and so it's probably cheaper to not have people sitting around.
