Someone I don't know touching me is way worse than them saying excuse me sir, can you please put your mask up. I would not be too kind in response to that.

Man, Lago looks like a really great menu. I love to be able to try lots of different food, so that's format is super appealing to my inner fat kid

To be fair... most did just that but there were a few that thought the *tap *tap *tap was a more effective approach... the whole thing after 6 days... I was over it. Lol

I could have sworn someone else had a similar story! But it definitely could indeed have been you. I really do hate when people try to customize things within an inch of their life (don't get me started on the way my ex would order a dish but then substitute literally everything out such that it didn't even resemble the dish on the menu), but if they're already offering a choice of chicken, shrimp, beef, or vegetables, then there's no real reason they can't just toss duck on top instead of chicken. By contrast, I also hate places that are insanely rigid. The pizza place at Eataly literally will not make any substitutions whatsoever, because "the chef has a certain vision for his menu". Come on guys, it's a pizza place and you have the ingredients right there and available as toppings on other pizzas.

Back in March when Vegas closed, I would have said we won’t be back until the pandemic is completely over. Recognizing how long it could be until that happens, we’ve got a trip booked for April. We’ll be driving to and from Vegas on Sat/Sun and spending the weekdays in Vegas; this is partially to avoid flying and partially because we love that drive.

It’s hard for me to be optimistic about anything these days, but with almost 8 months until we go it’s possible that the situation will improve. If not, we’re prepared to eat takeout in the room and basically only leave our room to gamble, fully masked of course regardless of what is required at that point.

It’s been over 6 months since I’ve gambled at all, definitely the longest since I’ve been 21, so I’m itching to play already. I think we’re going to hold out for Vegas to gamble, because the risk/reward equation for visiting our local right now isn’t worth it. (Actually, I haven’t paid close attention but I think the tribe might have closed the casino down again).

I booked a trip to Vegas during Labor Day weekend--Sept 5th to 8th--way back in mid April. Never imagined this would go on for so long. So far I still have the reservation and haven't cancelled.

I'll have to fly in to Vegas so the decision is somewhat heavy on my mind. Still planning to push forward with my plans though. I'm watching the John Hopkins covid charts daily, hoping the downward trend continues. Not gonna lie, a little nervous but also cautiously optimistic and a little excited too. I think unless the numbers start going drastically in the wrong direction, the trip is on.

My reservation was at NoMad in Park MGM for 3 nights comped cause I wanted to try it out, but Park MGM won't be open. So Mlife is offering to transfer me to Bellagio for "free" yet keep my same FreePlay and RC that I had with Park MGM.

The two Frontier planes we were on were noticeably clean. We were very comfortable. People wore their masks. Everyone was temp checked before boarding. Hopefully you’ll have the same experience on your flights!

BTW, There was no drink service, but you could request to purchase a bottle of water. This resulted in less movement to the lavatories, so less people passing your seat.

CherriesJubilee I also had apprehensions about traveling, but I’m glad I went. I flew Southwest and they still keep the middle seats open. The flight attendant made an announcement that she had already gotten a complaint about people not keeping their mask on during boarding and she said “you have to keep it on. You can not pretend to eat and drink the entire flight. If this is a problem for you, you can get off the plane now.”

I felt compliance in the casino was pretty good. If I felt it was too crowded I just moved to a different spot. A few times I chose to wait for a less crowded elevator. The restaurants I ate in were definitely spread out and cautious.

I didn’t leave Cosmo so can’t specifically speak to Belllagio. I hope it works out for you.

That's life, it's weird cause we have many many trips in USA since 2004, it seems that 2020 should be out of vacation but we will be back asap !

I booked for Oct 1 - 15. I want to try to get out there while JetBlue's Mint section is almost empty and middle seats are still being blocked.

Sisolak last week handed a lot of power over to the task force chaired by Murren. There is going to be a lot of pressure to reopen the bars, I don't know if they'll be able to hold out 6 weeks (or whether it would be justified).

They have got to know that getting the positivity rate down to 10% and then to 5% and holding it for at least two weeks to get off other states' quarantine lists is the key to opening the floodgates for a lot more people to come.

So I'll be watching
Testing results out there, plus
Do they open the bars

I wish Labor Day weekend wasn't so late this year. That's an accident waiting to happen, but it'll take at least a month to really see which way it went. But there should be some signs by the last week of Sept. to give me time to bail if necessary. If they're down to 10% or less, I'll feel better about it; if they're back up over 15%, not so much.

We're planning on the end of October. Might be a different kind of Vegas Strip (off-strip only, staying mainly at locals hotels) but it will be a Vegas trip. October 21-26th is what we have scheduled right now.

Of course, as with anything in these silly times this is subject to change, but since the reopening we've done three trips to our local and one flight to River Spirit in Tulsa and have had no exposure so we believe we can follow those same protocols and keep ourselves relatively safe in Vegas.

Also helps that Southwest is keeping middle seats empty until at least Oct 31st.

I've had an Oct 5-9 trip booked to Aria since April - and am likely going to be going given that the numbers are falling in AZ and NV. In addition, Southwest middle seats are still open and United first class on the return is fine.

I am very concerned about the flood of negative Aria reviews on Yelp. I'll be seeing for myself - at least I'm not going to be there on a weekend when my pals tell me it really gets crowded. I figure MGM properties have only themselves to blame if they're discounting rooms to the point where they are all in everyone's budget. That certainly wasn't the case before Covid - they were at 96-100% occupancy and everyone had to pay full price, except those of us who have always getten comped.

:) :)

I swear people post bad yelp reviews to try to get a comped invite back.

I read yelp for entertainment, not information (which is why I go straight to the not recommended reviews.)

I felt safe during my trip-in the casino, at the pool, in the lounges. But I was willing to change where I was going or what I planned to do if it looked more crowded than I was comfortable with. I stopped going into the pool when it had more people, I didn’t get on some of the elevators because there were enough people already-I always felt I had enough control to keep me safe.

That's how I feel about it. I have JetBlue Mint seats booked and right now I have the only Mint seat booked one way and there's only one other Mint seat booked on the return flight. I've been watching the booking patterns and prices and I don't think that is going to change much between now and the end of the month. And the day I come home is the last day they're still guaranteeing blocked seats.

They did consolidate two flights each way on Sunday, it was happening while I watched, lol. That means the number of seats booked in the main cabin on my flights basically doubled (from about 25 to about 50), doh. But it didn't affect the number of Mint seats booked. And at the same time, the prices of all of the remaining seats jumped so much that I think the total number booked on each flight is basically locked in at this point. The flight was the main thing that concerned me, a 6 hour non-stop.

Once I'm there, I figure I can pretty much control the environment. If it means playing really early in the morning for a couple of hours and then hanging in the room the rest of the time, I'm fine with that, it's not THAT much different than what I do anyway. No shows, no dining out, no M&Gs, that's unfortunate but I only usually do one of each on a trip and I can live without it for awhile.

For the tail end, I booked at both Bally's and Vdara for 6 nights. Vdara because it has a nuke, so I'd only have to load up on food once or twice. I can wait until I get there and then decide which way to go on that.

It is what it is right now, no point in pretending otherwise. There's been plenty of TRs by now, there should be no surprises.

Things that would make me bail now are the Mint section filling up, or a bad spike as fallout from Labor Day weekend. The first I doubt is gonna happen, the second I'm going to be watching closely right up until flight time.
