Don't answer that because I know why, just have to vent a little. The wife wanted to go to Paris but I really wasn't in the mood for a long overseas trip right now so I declined. She went anyway with two girlfriends for two weeks. I drove them to the airport on Wednesday really regretting my decision not to go. Really stupid I know especially since she is sending me pictures of all the fun they're having. So what do I do...after dropping them off at the airport I head to the local...right I lost my a$$. At my age it's time for me to grow up. I'm dreading the next two weeks because I know the food porn and travel porn will be coming everyday while I'm at home eating baloney sandwiches.

Any chance you can do the romantic thing and surprise her in Paris?

I always say live with no regrets. You made a decision and the consequences you have to live with. Marriage is give and take. Since you didn't GIVE and go to Paris, the casino TAKE! Lol Karma is a very real thing. Next time go with your wife wherever she wants to go, as you don't always get a 2nd chance! Make sure you let her know how much you wish you had went with her. She's waiting for that!

Speaking as someone who's made quite a few trips to Paris, let me just say, "good decision, it ain't all it's cracked up to be".. wait a minute, I forgot to add that all my trips were work related that involved 2-3 10 hour days of listening to our French overlords babbling in meetings... then again, there were those couple of trips that my wife was able to accompany me and we had some of our most memorable moments ever...now that I think about it, bad decision ISFan, very bad decision..... next time...:D

I know but I did say not to answer the question.

She already knows how regretful I am. Have a little compassion Hoofy.

    Thanks...now I feel even worse.

I have compassion! I feel bad you missed out on an experience with your wife! Lol The casino taught you a lesson as well. Fry that Bologna and the sandwiches will taste better! ;)

IMG_2119.JPG Wow, that was a decision. No regrets, though, go next time! (In your defence, Paris is kind of dirty.) But the food! The museums! The cheese!

Rear view mirrors are for cars, not life. What's done is done, plan your next trip together when she returns. Make sure she brings you back something nice, like a bottle of cognac.

Already told her to bring me back a holy card from Notre Dame. Next trip is an annual one in July at the ocean with the grandkids.

Maybe she wouldn't be having so much fun had you gone with.

Wait, that didn't sound right, but you know what I mean, it just would have been a different trip.

Learned from my big mistake. Wife wants to go to Ireland in October and I said book it although I don't know much about Irish history I'm not staying home again and we do have friends who live outside of Dublin. We will make Dublin our home base and take day trips from there. Wondering if Ireland has any casinos lol.

Ireland is gorgeous! The Wicklow Mountains and Glendalouch is a great day trip from Dublin. The Guinness factory/museum in Dublin is surprisingly fun. I wouldn't recommend the Jameson tour in Dublin as their main factories are not there.

Wife wants to see the cliffs of Mohar and I want to see the Titanic Experience in Belfast. Thanks for the tip on the Wicklow Mt. tour. Any must eat at restaurants in Dublin?

Cliffs of Moher are beautiful. If you go up to Belfast, go to Giants Causeway. Also the Bushmills factory up there was great.

I last went to Dublin 11 years ago so I don't have any restaurant recommendations.
