So, I got a beyond phenomenal win at Gulfstream on just .20 cents($393 on a Bonus that paid like a MAX BET. I was playing Stinking Rich, at 4 lines times 5 and the 3 Keys To Riches Symbols showed up in a row on a line I was playing. It retriggered multiple times and since I was playing times 5, it was the Max bet in the Bonus and I got 1,965 times my bet. [IMG])and I got about 276 points(1,380 coin in and was still up and able to pay bills)) Do you think I should ask for a Host? I mean $1,380 has to be worth SOMETHING, right? Okay, I did get a $20 freeplay after that massive coin in, especially in just one day. I'm wondering if that is enough to qualify for a Host...

To be very honest with you, I don't believe that level of play warrants a host. You will probably get some offers in the mail.

A lot depends on where you are playing. I can only speak about Vegas. I was playing $5K to $10K coin in per day to warrant a host at the Cal. I play less than that now so I don't use a host to book anymore, but I can call them to pick up the odd meal or two if needed because I tipped very well.

On the strip you'd be looking at a lot more coin in than that you need downtown.

Others can chime in with better details at strip properties.

Having said that, if you have any decent amount of play like $1000 or two, you should visit the hosts office at the end of a trip (before you check out) to see if they can pick up anything.

LMAO! :D I wonder if this huge bump in my Points will give me wonderful Bounce Back Free Play/Upgraded Normal Free Play. For example, I got $10 in Preloaded Bounce Back on every Thursday in August and $5 in Preloaded Bounce Back for September On Monday, Tuesday, or Wednesday I got $5 free play. On Friday or Saturday, I got $5 free play(Different from Preloaded Bounce Back)So $20 a week for September. On October 3, I went to Gulfstream, expecting $5 in Preloaded Bounce Back Thursday and was baffled when it wasn't there. Luckily, this was the same day I won the $393 Bonus. I actually got $5 Bounce Back(Not Preloaded)and then $20 (Not Preloaded) Bounce Back later on. So hopefully, I get like $20 Preloaded tomorrow for Bounce Back Thursday. There is a possibility that they took out Preloaded Bounce Back Thursday, however...:/

Short answer, no. $1380 in coin in might be worth about $138 in theoretical loss. So anything more than some free play in the mail or a discounted/free buffet would be a bonus. At that level a host isn’t going to be able to do anything for you that you wouldn’t be getting as promos from the marketing department.

$138 theo is maybe $45 in comps on a good day. Don’t play for the sole purpose of getting a host. You’ll only waste a lot of money, and once a host is assigned, waste even more money. Just curious, was there something in particular that you needed from a host?

No, I wasn't expecting a Host per se. I was just saying a Host would be cherry on top. :)

Why in the World would you want a host?

if you start losing $1300 each trip for a while they will give you rooms free meals and maybe a free dinner but you have to lose and play way way more than you are now

Maybe "Host," isn't the correct word. Maybe "Free play bump," is what I really mean. :)

That’s all driven by computer algorithms. And how much and how often they give it to you will vary greatly between casinos. A locals places will be more generous but give you smaller amounts more often. While a Vegas or tourist place will give you bigger chunks all at once. Most likely there are bands of ranges of coin in that get certain free play offers. But it’s almost impossible to guess what they are as they’re different in every casino. A host won’t be of any help here. Finding a way to grind coin in on a low house edge and low variance machine would be a way to drive up coin in. But never chase comps. The math says you will lose much more than the $20 or $40 in free play you’ll get back that it took to earn.

Also depends on how often you go, etc.
if you go weekly and usually just cycle $500 each time , a one time bump to almost $1400 just gets averaged in and maybe your freeplay offers go up $5 next month best case

If you don’t go there often though, like once per 6 months and this time you played 2-3 times your normal amount they might go up a bit more

I have found from any casino I play at that if I have a one time big “increase” in play my offers don’t go up much. But after 3 or 4 or more visits at my new “level” of play then I’ll start to see big changes, or a host may come introduce themselves if I didn’t have or my previous level of play didn’t qualify for one already, etc.

Also depending on the casino, adjusted offers could lag by a month or two.

I basically have quit playing, but when i was betting bigger for me, $5 slots, I would lose or win 1-3 thousand a trip and my offers were like $100 free play, dinner , room, I had a host but they didn't do much except encourage me to gamble more.
