This is random, but I wanted to post anyway. I was changing my Amazon password today and cancelling a credit card because of a "free gift" that was received today. I didn't order it, and the receipt clearly said this is a free gift from "some random facemask company". The charge for the "free gift" showed up on my credit card as a pending transaction today. I called the CC company and cancelled the card and called Amazon. Amazon said someone had created a new account in my name yesterday and they sent me the disposable face masks. Well, as I was changing my Amazon password, my Google Chrome prompted me with the alert that I had several "compromised" passwords and suggested I change them. One of them was the Wynn RedCard and Wynn reservations websites. The Chrome notification said it was breached one month ago. I'm just putting this here in case you have online accounts with Wynn that you may want to update. It could be just a coincidence, but who knows. The CC account that was compromised is one that I would use for my reservations at Wynn.

Good reminder to change passwords regularly. Unfortunately I make many of mine so difficult that I often forget them !

Also a good reminder to not duplicate passwords on important websites. I admittedly repeat passwords across things like message boards, comment sections, etc., and it's not like anyone could really do much with my Mlife account even if it got breached, but things like bank and email accounts are each unique.

Yes, I bet most of us are guilty of reusing passwords. I guess if your Mlife account were hacked by the right person, your SSN could potentially be exposed which isn't great. It's all so annoying.

Theoretically, but that would require getting into the master database, and that sort of personal info isn't stored in plaintext anyway. Just having my Mlife password wouldn't be enough to get my SSN.

Then again, my SSN has been breached more times than I can count. I've just accepted it as a fact of life.

Separately, just my own personal commentary, but I'm always kind of amused that things like your phone number and address are considered "data breaches". Phone books used to exist, after all. And I could not really care less about someone getting my email address.

Thanks for the info! I’m one of those lucky people who supposedly applied for unemployment when I didn’t.

So far 6 people in my company have applied for Ohio benefits and we all still work there, none of us applied. All you can see is the email associated with the person who used your info to get a PIN number. (all different emails) Thankfully they didn’t get any $. I reported it through the proper channels and froze all my credit. But obviously my SS# and associated info is out there. Not comforting.

I actually do still have a Hotmail account, but it's basically a data dump for things I need an email account to sign up for but don't really need communications from.

Plus, all these email leaks have led to a dramatic uptick in the number of sexy local singles who want to meet me, if my spam folder is to be believed.

If any hacker gets anything out of my player's card account.... they have done better than I have.

Wow....the same thing happened to my husband. Two other people in his office, as well. He doesn’t know if they actually collected the unemployment yet. Can’t get a person on the phone at the unemployment office.

Depending how efficient his HR Dept is, they should be able to find out for him. Good luck!

Just FYI for people. I work in Info Security. The Chrome compromised passwords doesn't mean that that particular site was compromised. It does mean some site where you used the same login(or email address) and password combination was breached and its in a list of logins/passwords that Chrome is checking against. It also might not be your account. Say you have a common name and your login is jsmith123 and you use the password01 as your password, and there is another jsmith that uses that wonderfully secure password that got breached.

The flipside is that is also doesn't mean that that site wasn't compromised...

I haven't been able to log into my Wynn account for years---I wonder if the hackers would mind sending me my password???
