Saw this too, validated parking makes sense.

I'm sure it's possible, but I wonder if there's not some way to do a drink ticket like system where with enough credits through a machine you qualify for free parking. Or even just track it through your players card and have some type of kiosk where you can print a voucher if you need one at the end of the night.

I don't usually have a car in Vegas, so I can't say definitively, but it seemed like that's what they had set up at Main Street Station last time I was there. Earn X points on your card, print a voucher for free parking at the kiosk.

Seems easy enough, then you keep the regular gamblers and locals happy. I never have a car in Vegas either

All the Caesar’s properties in AC do vouchers if you swipe your TR card after earning enough tier credits.

Harrahs New Orleans does this as well. You swipe you card to validate parking at a kiosk in the casino. And then the parking booth attendant swipes again on way out.

They will just say its part of the resort fee, and bump the RF up 10%.

They're including it in the RF, but they're saying the RF won't be raised because of including parking now.

And this for non guests :

It make more sense to validate the parking ticket to get customers in to spend money. We are pretty new red card member at Wynn, we already have our license plate register on their system and the gate would just open for us. MLife casinos however still only allow members of Pearl and higher to park free, they won't validate tickets no matter how much you gamble or spend, I know because we asked when we were there last time in April, so we got their credit card to become Pearl member instantly.

We just came back from Las Vegas, staying at Encore, they don't even have the gates at either Encore or Wynn garage any more, you can get in and out even without validation because there is no tickets, it is smart on their parts, the line was short last time we had the buffet in Feb., There were long line at the buffet even at 8pm the day we checked in and long lines at the brunch beffets on Monday and Tuesday, so it makes good business sense, people would come to their buffet and not even worry about paying for parking, people can go in the gamble a little and don't even have to stand in line to have the ticket validate. Hope more casinos would follow.

Did the resort fee increase to $45 prior to the free parking decision? If it happened around the same time, it would seem to me that the two are related. Maybe not, but I did pause recently about making a reservation at Wynn for four nights knowing the cost of my room would increase by $200 for what is basically, for me, internet usage. I just wish the hotels would increase the room rates and get rid of the resort fee, or just charge me a reasonable daily fee for what I need . . . the internet.

I don't know when was the resort fee increased, but we were asked if we want to opt in the resort fee for $45/night, it includes the fitness center, phone calls and wifi for 4 devices, access to more than 2,000 national and international digital daily newspapers and magazines, who has time to read all that while in Vegas? We opted out since our room is comped and decided to use what data we have on our phone just to check email and look up whatever we need on the internet on the cell phone, but you can just get wifi for $19.99 per device per day I believe, that should be good enough unless you are flamily of 4 and each one need their own wifi.
