Non-stop flights on Spirit - big front seat. Uneventful.

Got to Vdara at 1145 and got checked in. Fountain-view studio. Room is fine. Showing wear. Unfortunately at one of the "offsets" in the building so was directly facing another room. Couldn't take full advantage of the fountain view. I do like the location a lot.

One session at Cosmo and wasn't really feeling it. Drink service was meh at best. Down 200 on 2500 coin in. So about as expected.

Best results this trip at Bellagio. Came away with ~500 of their money on 4500 coin in. Played "Zap" for the first time and hit $500 on an early spin. Also got a nice 750 line hit on Pinball.

    Losing sessions at Aria.

Best hit-and-run at Mirage after seeing Love. On the way out, stopped at a $5 Pinball and hit bonus on third spin for $375.

All in all a net winning trip for first time in a while.

    Loved Love!

    Food:

Javier's - best margarita I've had in a long time. Chips and salsa are great. Main course was ok.
Sadelle's - salmon eggs benedict outstanding. Ate there twice.
Bellagio buffet just ok. Seems smaller than it used to be but that's likely just bad memory on my part.

Maybe just an off-visit for me, but with the exception of Bellagio, drink service everywhere was really not up to my prior experiences.

Nice win! But the best drink service was at Bellagio? I always had bad luck with drinks on the floor there.

I went recently. It's not any smaller, but I definitely think it's either gone downhill, or just gotten a bit tired. I remember years ago when it was a revelatory experience, and now it's, as you said, "just ok". It's certainly not bad, but it's also not really any better than, say, Aria or Paris, and certainly not up to the standard Bacchanal has set. And agreed completely on "Love", it's my favorite Cirque show by far, and one of my favorite shows in Vegas.

They and Aria have been the best ones in my experience. It's unfortunate that they've downgraded the drink selection on the floor (at least, they did at Aria, so I'm assuming it's the same at Bellagio), but by contrast, I've found that cocktail waitresses at Cosmo anywhere but HL are simply a myth invented by management to get us to come back.

I was asked once at Cosmo on the floor last trip, but as usual it was about 5 minutes before we wanted to leave. I swear it's always that way on every floor. Lol

Ha, that's why I always play at the bars if I'm going to play at all. I'll gladly take the percentage hit to play somewhere I know the bartenders, get premium drinks for free, and don't have to worry about pace of play.

Agree Vdara needs a freshen, just stayed there a few weeks ago. Building is now 10 years old and so is the furniture. We had a couch in our suite that I don't think you'd see in a Motel 6, just beat up, dirty and uncomfortable. But enjoyed the place otherwise.

Also went to the Bellagio buffet, we had a buy one-get one pass.....my first time ever eating there. Wasn't amazed. For once the MLife card helped us cut a huge line, and thankfully, because I didn't think the buffet was worth either the full price or the line. It was good, don't get me wrong....but felt more like a 3 or 3 1/2 star experience as opposed to a 4-5 star experience.

To be fair, I'm not a huge buffet guy. I'd rather just eat one meal. The idea of getting plates heaped with things that don't go together, pizza and turkey and sushi and everything else under the sun....it just doesn't excite me that much. And then that gnawing idea that you have to eat tons so you can "get your moneys worth"....

Just give me one good meal anytime!
