I've read a couple of trip reports that highlighted a restaurant in the mountains somewhere. I made a mental note of it at the time and even told my husband about it, but forgot that I'm old and don't remember things as well as I once did.

It seems the restaurant is pretty popular among Las Vegas regulars and I was hoping maybe a member could help me identify the name and location of this place.

Our trip is not until next week, but we are making plans.

I believe you're thinking of the Mt Charleston Lodge?

Yes! Thank you so much! We've been going to Las Vegas once a year for the past 25 years and never venture out of a casino. It's so bad. We've seen a total of five shows in all those years. We just visited and got a photo at the "Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas" sign. We are in Vegas next week and are determined to do something different and was intrigued a year or two ago when someone posted photos and a review of the place. I looked it up and that was it. You are so sweet to reply.

The ride up to MT. Charleston is quick and easy, a nice getaway and usually 20 degrees cooler than the Las Vegas valley in summer.

The Lodge at Mt. Charleston was purchased by the owners of Ellis Island Brewery and Casino last year.
I spoke with one of the Ellis Island owners a few months back, and they are possibly adding some gaming options to the property.
Not sure if done of not.
