Reading the group trip report you would think that everyone at the Spring Fling went home big winners, but I know better. There were plenty of losers attending the 2017 VF Spring Fling.

Okay Okay, I don't literally mean losers in the context of an adjective to describe people, but rather a thread for those of us who took an ass kicking at gambling can lament and bitch and moan. Looking at all those hand pays on the group TR made me feel like the only one going home down.

Feel free to add any bad VP hands, losing, stories, etc from the Spring Fling Trip.

I'm one of the big losers this weekend. Slots and VP killed me. My plan was to play mostly tables, which I should have stuck to, as tables were actually pretty good. My downfall was my solo sessions. Whenever I broke away from my group, I hit the slots/VP...it was a mistake every time. Small handpays can't make a winner, unless you hit them repetitively, or quit right away when ahead...I wasn't hitting them repetitively, and I'm sure as hell not a quitter...lol.

Trip started good, up $800 within an hour of touch down on Thursday. Got a little rocky later in the evening donking off around $200, but still respectable.
Got up for coffee and still was holding my own, converting $300 in FP to $420 in cash. Rolled around and played a bit.

Right at around 10am Fri morning things turned to crap. A $300 buy in at BJ saw that money go up in flames in 14 hands, another $200 on 5 bad shooters on craps sank the morning run. Donked off another $250 on $1 Bonus Poker in around 30 mins. Then for the pre-lunch appetizer, I dumped another $150 at Walking Dead only to get up and move to the slot machine next to it, while a nice blue hair old lady, sat down and jackpot-ed the machine I was just on 6 spins later.

I decided to take a break for the evening, minimizing any further play since I lost half the bankroll for this 2 night trip at this point.

Saturday morning started out promising with a couple of quads on .25 VP, before turning cold again to the tune of $250 at multi denominational VP.
Figured I had 3 low paying quads for 1000 hands of VP. Saturday afternoon got really bad with me dropping another $500 at various penny slots with nare
a bonus. Best I saw was a $24.56 bonus with max bet on Buffalo gold and a $9.80 bonus on WD2 with a $2.25 bet.

All said and done $1500 cash and $300 in FP gone in less then 48 hours. Pretty brutal beat down. Almost chased but held strong, keeping my losses to
earlier cash won at my local in Feb and March. Get another shot at a winner in two weeks.

FINALLY, a thread I feel comfortable posting. Haha. For real tho; was great meeting everyone, but this was my worst (gambling) trip to date lol. I can honestly say I was not up ($$$) even one time across the last two weeks. I started tracking my losses day-to-day and then session-to-session just so I could mentally continue enjoying it, haha,

My main vixen this weekend ( after a few gut-wrenching <$80 scatters/bonuses/features (all on $3-20 max bets) ) was the tables. *TWICE* I lost with quads to either a damn higher quad or a straight flush. And as for boats and then 20s in BJ losing....that was just my M.O. for the weekend.

Thankfully, after all was said and done, I was only down $3k but Cosmo was ever so gracious enough to cover all my room charges so that definitely helped me wash the bad taste I developed for the gaming.

Good thread. I would have lost $18,276 lol.. BUT still would have been worth it to be with all you degens. Instead probably lost wayyyy more than that in audit.. :(

Good to see this is a short thread, hope I'm the last post. I had an up and down trip this time; down $6k at the low point, up $4.5k at the high point, unfortunately ended up much closer to the former than the latter. It was the usual problem for me, not walking away from a machine when up (or at least before making the losses worse). I should have tried to participate in some of the board organized events to kill time after winning sessions, but will just have to keep that on the list as an aspirational goal for the future (pretty sure it's not a good sign if socializing with a group of self-described Vegas "fanatics" is part of your plan to gamble LESS though).

    Some "losers" pics...

Here is a small sampling of my near misses, which could have changed the outcome of the trip. I had many other similar situations, but I stopped recording them because I started to feel like I was jinxing myself...lol

OMG. If you caught just one Ace on the $5 TDB draw, you would be a winner.

If I had hit one, I would have immediately quit playing the machines for the trip...at least I hope I would have...lol. That would have definitely allowed me to book a win, assuming more time at the tables would not have a disastrously negative effect. On that $5 triple play, I had one more dealt trip aces and one dealt trip 4's with a 3 kicker...neither of them materialized. There was definitely potential for a great winning trip. I'll just have to save those big hits for next time...lol

Normally you don't complain about a straight flush. But that one card would've made a big difference in the weekend.

@ted_nancy I have same problem. You will think I have learned by now after 15 plus years of heavy gambling but nah~
Last 5 trips, I was up and gave that back and my BR plus ATM. DUH! I KNOW! LOL
To add insult to injury, stupid Aria housekeeping 'TEAM' banging on my door at 9 AM and at the same time supervisor calling and telling me their system is showing I checked out night before (TV was still showing my name when I was dealing with this situation).
Btw, at Aria I could not win anything this year. Not even get any decent coin in, let alone decent bonus. All my winnings were from
Venetian, Cosmo and Mirage. Pretty much I made a profit at other casinos and dumping it at Aria. I decided to take a break from Aria for a while. Customer service blows.

Good Luck everyone on you next adventure!

OMG I feel the same about Aria! Even my host was like, honey you don't win here, you may want to consider another MLife property lol!! But she is right! So I'm not back in Vegas until July 4th long break for me! Best of luck!
