I got my first Pfizer shot today - second dose on 2/18

I got my Moderna shot last week on Thursday. 2.18 to get the second dose as well.

 

Meanwhile here in Canada (specifically Ontario) it's looking like MAYBE July before the 40-something crowd like me will get a chance. We'll get to stay locked down for a few more months because our leaders suck at doing their job.

Canada has made lots of news by having committed to something stupid like 400 million doses of vaccines (for 40 million people). What they forget to mention is that 380 million of those are for vaccines which may or may not ever actually come to fruition. Canada is getting Pfizer from Germany where the plant is being re-tooled to increase capacity, and as a result Canada has received no new doses this week and apparently we don't know when the next ones are coming. They just keep saying they'll make up for it in March, but it's royally screwed over people who got the first dose since they weren't really planning to reserve the second one with the assumption of a steady supply chain, which it has not been.

 

Exactly. I completed both doses of the Pfizer vaccine a few weeks ago but that was because of my job. If I wasn’t an ICU RN, I’d be waiting for awhile.

 

It was really a stroke of luck that my wife and I found doses for ourselves. We feel extremely fortunate.

Perhaps we shouldn't go to Vegas for a while.

 

The county here is doing moderna. Still on groups 1A and 1B. It’ll be a while for my turn to come up though.

 

I'm very fortunate to work in healthcare and get my second shot Friday. Going March 27 for my 40th!

Our county has not completed Tier 1A. My youngest son received his second Moderna dose last week because of his job. It makes me feel better that he should now be safe. We are in our 50s, so it will be a while for us, but we are ok with that.

 

I hope they can make up for the current shortfall of vaccines by early March but I'm not feeling very confident at this point. I do feel sorry for those that received the first dose and are delayed in getting the second. Fingers crossed they get their second dose within the time frame required to maximize the vaccines efficacy. I'm slated as part of phase 1 but don't expect to receive the first dose until late spring. Be well, Stay safe.

 

When I received my first dose, I was given a QR code to scan to register with Vsafe which is from the CDC and is used to track side effects. It’s really easy-I just got a text reminding me to fill out a post vaccination survey. And after the first dose, there was a place to add info about health conditions. It takes very little time to fill out.

 

Yeah... they wanted me to download an app and I just chose not to do it. I hate adding apps to my phone and that was a deal-breaker for me.

 

My daughter received her second dose today. She’s a nurse, also. So far, no side effects! My mother has had her first dose. It’ll be awhile for me.....but, I’m ready!

 

It’s not actually an app with Vsafe. They just text you a link to a survey at different intervals- so you do have to give your cell. I totally get why you wouldn’t and I almost didn’t, but it was super easy and quick.

 

I got my first shot Pfizer on Jan 19th, still waiting for a call for my 2nd. Apparently there's a shortage in BC. Work keeps sending emails saying postponed. Hopefully they figure out how to keep a steady supply and keep the ball rolling.

 

Got mine on Tuesday with second on the 24th. Problem is I am married to a youngster and she did not make the 75 group. Told my host at Red Rock when I cancelled next months trip that I was waiting for the wife to get her shot (hopefully next month). Host said that was a good idea (she is a keeper!).

 

M got the first dose of Pfizer's yesterday. Slept more yesterday, arm sore, the common stuff...

 

Sounds about the same as mine. The second shot was easier for me. But it wasn’t terrible.

I like this thread. It makes me hopefully that in a year, we’ll all be posting about Vegas.
