In a few weeks, I'll be making my first trip downtown since Mermaids and Le Bayou closed. Not only will I miss always walking away a winner on my favorite Monkees machine at Mermaids and STILL getting beads at Le Bayou for waiting for a hopper fill, I'll miss the incredibly rapid cocktail service. Some of my best Las Vegas memories were hanging out with friends and winding up with two or three drinks at a time because the waitresses appreciated a group of tipping customers.

Now, like a drunken delusion, they are gone. We actually planned a special trip to get to both of them as soon as we heard they were heading out.

So now where will we get hammered? Drink service downtown has always been spotty at best in other casinos.

Where have you gone downtown and had superior (aka FAST) service?

Low rollers at all of them!!
Best service I had DT recently are Binions and the Plaza. The D was pretty good. 4Q, Fremont, Cal, & El Cortez fair. Golden Gate was non existent, yes, you read that right. We were there twice and never got service.

The most consistently quick cocktail service I've experienced downtown has been at MSS (table games).
With other places, it really depends on when you're there... late-afternoon/evening/night, 'theD', Golden Gate, El Cortez & Fremont are all pretty good... no so much in the mornings.
My experience with Plaza has always been hit & miss...if the floor is fairly busy with gamblers, the drink service is quite good... if you're one of only a handful of table-game players, not so much...same is true for 4-Queens & Cal...

Can we just have a moment of silence for Le Bayou?

I'd say 4Q is pretty good for service. Same with MSS and Fremont.

At night GG is so busy it is hard to get service.
