Rycelover spends Xmas in Prague and Vienna 12/19-12/27

    After an 8 day layover at home following a celebration of @newmans birthday in the Bahamas, our hero boards a redeye Polish Airlines flight bound for Prague and Vienna. My first time in this part of the world.

    I’ll be meeting a very good friend who lives in Hong Kong. We couldn’t agree on where to go so we decided to meet each other half way in Eastern Europe.

    She did all the planning so I have no idea what’s on the itinerary, other than getting a rental car on the 22nd and driving to Vienna to spend Xmas. Can’t really think of a more festive pair of cities to spend the holidays.

    Definitely no chip porn but plenty of drink and food porn to come and loads of scenic landscape photos.

    Currently at the gate waiting to board (one stop to Warsaw)... but got raped already because I decided to exchange some Czech Koruna at the airport. I figured it’s better to have some pocket change. Damn $9.99 fee plus horrible exchange rate. Ugh.

    I’ve never been to either city but have heard they are beautiful and are chuck full of history. I know you will have a wonderful trip...enjoy.

    Enjoy. Have pigs knuckle in Prague. Its awesome. You can take the train from Prague to Vienna if you want. I stayed in Bratislava, Slovakia just across the border from Vienna as it is less than an hour by train. I'd tell you all the places to drink but 1. you don't drink and 2. probably are different since I was last there. But I loved the food. Prague aslo has the fried cheese sandwich. Even McDonalds has it...lol. Have a great time.

    Happy holidays ryce and have a wonderful time! Looking forward to the pics , especially the food porn. Mrs and I will be doing Berlin, Prague and Vienna next year so looking for some good food recommendations. Wife thinks it’s all pork, which she doesn’t eat, so let me know if you find a good seafood or vegetarian place.

    Arrived at Warsaw, Poland for a connecting flight. Pro tip- for international connecting flights give yourself enough time to get through border control and security. So many people needed to cut lines just to make a flight. SMH

    Eat eat eat ... at the airport, having a traditional Polish lunch of vegetable soup and pierogi (Meat filled dumplings)

    That’s my ride from Warsaw to Prague - a ratty-ass Bombardier turbo-prop. Ugh

    An hour later and we touchdown, so no one died.

    Now on the way to the hotel via Uber. Driver did not speak a lick of English but who cares since he has my destination and there’s no need for me to reach into my pocket to pay him. Also, he’s using waze gps app!

    This is like Rycelover Travel Channel with a heavy serving of Culinary Adventure! Can’t wait to see the all the photos! Now I’m starving for bacon and pierogis. Gonna make some for dinner tonight. Have a wonderful trip and I’m so jealous of your travel plans! I know you like tech gadgets, so did you happen to see the ear piece available that translates foreign languages in real time? I think it would be amazing for someone like you who travels often.

    Cant wait to hear about all the food in this trip. Definitely a more meat and potato's trip, but I hold out that theirs some good fish too!!! ;)

    Hi!

    Enjoy! Two of my favorite cities! In Prague, make sure that you order sides with your meal...they rarely come with the main course in traditional restaurants and the service isn't as attentive as we are used to here. They do a nice job of having menus in English though!
