Southwest is keeping the middle seats open until September 30. Was supposed to be until end of July. This makes me feel better about my flight in August as long as SWA doesn’t change my flight again.

Casinos in Detroit still closed and will be limited to 15% capacity when they open (which honestly I think will change quickly once they open). Probably open by July 4.

We have Delta 1st Class seats for our September trip (because we had them for a trip planned "pre-COVID"). I've read recently that most major airlines have suspended alcohol service and food service is limited. Makes me wonder if we are wasting the tickets for a trip that will be less than "1st class". Also wondering about how it will be to wear a mask for 4+ hours on the plane. Hoping to read more TR's from folks that are traveling by plane which may help me convince my husband that it won't be too bad, but realize everyone's mask tolerance is different. Wishing for the days when all I needed to worry about was how I would fit all of my lotions and potions in 3 oz bottles. :-(

Good point about Delta. I think first class seating is limited to 50% capacity but no idea about food and beverage options. Southwest is going to give out a can of water and a cheezit mix on flights over 250 miles and that’s it.

Thanks. Seems like American will serve alcohol to 1st class, but not Delta.

Well that definitely sucks in every way - but if it means being open I'll take it. It's much, much harder to say "what can we do to make modifications and open" than to simply say screw it and stay closed. So I appreciate all efforts made towards opening.

And if @claired67 is right about Detroit casinos opening July 4, I sure hope CZR puts tons of pressure on the Ontario government to get their act together and 1) open Caesars Windsor (which would mean all the others in Ontario would be able to open too), and 2) get rid of the quarantine requirement for crossing the border. With the CDN dollar sucking as much as it is right now, would be great to bring some folks over from MI to shop & spend money.

@Mr2BOBCATS this is where I got my info about the dates-I was mostly interested in finding out if schools are opening in the fall (they are). Hopefully things keep improving in the area and it stays on track.

I’m optimistic one second and building a panic room the next and then going to store to buy more wine. I’ve got no idea what is going to happen but I hope it’s me in Vegas in August.

Everyone in Nevada has to wear a mask when they are out in public with the exception of when they are eating or drinking. The order goes into effect on Friday

A big hospitality workers union held a virtual press conference a few days ago asking lawmakers to require tourists to wear them so it was only a matter of time before their demands were met.

Not Vegas related, but if anyone is interested in a free antibody test, the Red Cross is currently testing all donations for antibodies. My employer offers a few hours of pay for each donation so a few of my coworkers have donated and received their results . 1 out of 9 have tested for antibodies. That one is going to go to Quest Diagnostics for a second test that my employer has offered to reimburse to anyone who takes it, but I do know that the public can buy a test for $115.

I wonder how walking on the strip in 115 degree heat will work in August with a mask? Wearing a mask will take a toll on people in heat. I just ordered two masks for hubs and I with the worst ratings on Amazon for being thin and flimsy. Good. Maybe I will be able to breathe.

I’m not getting ugly but I wear one for 12-13 hours a day and now suffer from severe headaches and sinus and nasal congestion that I never did before until being forced to wear a mask. I told my husband all we had to do was cover our nose and mouth and have the appearance of complying. I just want to be able to breathe without feeling like I am suffocating while on vacation. Still looking at September trip for Vegas.
